Hi everyone! What do y'all think of a beach ceremony standing or sitting? Any thoughts for a 50 ppl ceremony.? I'm considering it but they're charging $1500 for basic set up? Is that what it cost? Help! Thanks & God bless!

Hi! I too am getting married on the beach, I did see a lot of photos of people having guests just standing while they exchanged vows. While I think for some companies it is not unusual to offer packages with no seating, you can always add that to your ceremony setup. Don't make the guests stand on a warm day, think about everyone's comfort, while you'll be anxious and moving around, they will be just "standing around" waiting for all to happen.

    Add chairs/benches Smiley smile

Also: you're talking transportation: some places will offer transportations from hotel to ceremony site for a small fee. Other cases your guests will probably make it work and ride together. Many people say that they pay for shuttle and people decide to take their cars instead making it a waste of money,

You know your guests so you should be able to pick wisely.

I decided to change a few things in our planning to yield more money for comfort. People will be traveling for our special day I need to make sure they eat well, drink well and be comfortable.

Look for planners that offer the whole package for ceremony, depending on how many guests you're expecting it should be cheaper than contracting different vendors for each item (flowers, chairs, music)

Sitting. I would be pissed if I had to stand for about 30 minutes, I have a bad back.

I'm having a beach ceremony and I ordered enough chairs for everyone to have a seat to make it easier on those who may not be able to stand for the entire ceremony.

If you have 1-6 guests, its ok if they are standing and the ceremony its only 10 min. But if its otherwise, Seats... Please! Smiley smile

We are having benches and now I am seriously considering a tent just because the more I think about the older family members...diabetes, cancer patient in remission, knee replacements, etc... We're also providing a cooler of water bottles, sunscreen, cheap sunglasses, hand fans, or hats... I don't want people having some kind of medical emergency.

    Sitting. Always sitting.

I had to stand at a wedding this summer. There ceremony was only supposed to take 10 minutes (per the bride) but it took 25. There were only enough seats for the elderly guests. Standing for a half hour in a dress and heels in 90-degree heat and humidity is not good for your guests.

They need to sit and you can't make your wedding party set up chairs. Please now.

If you're going to make them stand, it better be a five minute ceremony that starts on time.

Is just going to say basically what Celia did.. rarely have I gone to a wedding that started on time! Even when it's supposed to be 10 minutes, it won't be.. I'm paying $1740 for chairs for my beach ceremony. As well as providing water, fruit, and fans.

We are doing a beach wedding and we have chairs for everyone. 1500 for chairs seems a little high for 50 people. Our wedding planner and service is charging us 7.50 a chair.

Everyone has covered it, but I would never attend a wedding at which I had to stand. Many people are also unable to stand for long periods of time, especially in severe heat. Always have a seat for every butt.
