I had my first fitting today and the seamstress offered quite a bit of unsolicited advice. Her biggest concern (aside from dress-related things), was that FH might have a wandering eye and leave me for a gal with better posture. No joke...she even suggested that I should wear my hair down at the wedding to hide my terrible posture. I was so amused that I wasn't even offended or insulted. Truth be told, I do have terrible posture...but I didn't think it was a threat to my relationship. Haha!

ETA: She's apparently a fantastic seamstress and takes such pride in her work that every bride's dress fits them like a glove. Before my next fitting, I'll just have to steel myself for some tough love.

I'm planning on pissing off my MOH ahead of time so she cinches me in a bit tighter...but that's all I got!

I can't wait to be an eccentric old lady who gets away with saying random crap! I wonder what age that starts to creep in? I'm 34 now so....35? 38? 33? Oopsie! Smiley smile

My seamstress was like a wise owl. And she could talk for HOURS. She was fascinating but a couple of times I was kinda antsy to get out of there and I think she was too, but maybe both of us were too polite to just say "Bye now!" lol.

Amoura, maybe do some lifting with dumbbells to target your upper back and shoulders? Bent forward rows, shoulder presses, chest flys, that kind of thing. And the stronger your core, the better your posture too. Hot yoga, pilates, and dance classes are big on posture and elongating the spine. I remember taking dance as a kid and spending hours trying to imagine a string pulling up the top of my head.

And when in doubt a good corset totally does the trick!!! Mine kept me upright until 5am. Smiley smile
