Spring Weddings

How is everyone feeling about their upcoming wedding? Has anyone shortened their guest list or pushed their date out?

We are getting pressure from my MIL to either un-invite some people or to shorten our guest list to just immediate family and I was curious to see where everyone else’s head was at... I never imagined COVID would still be this bad!!

Yes, we downsized to less than 10 guests. I recommend downsizing

Hi Taylor! How many guests are currently on your list? If you have 40 or so, you could be ok by May. If you have 200, reducing the list may be a good idea. ❤️

We have about 75 on our list for May 1st. I was really hoping we would be okay to go forward with that amount!

We postponed our March celebration because we just cannot risk it. It doesn't seem to be getting any better. We downsized to 80 but even then that's risky so we are waiting to choose another date

We set up a ruthlessly cut version of the guest list for ourselves so if it comes to that we can see if it's worth uninviting people depending on occupancy limits for the venue. We got married on our original June 2020 date with only 10 people including us so if we have to cut down too much it just isn't worth it. The new June 2021 date is about celebrating with everyone so I fear we'll be postponing again but still crossing my fingers (and toes and arms and legs) that we don't have to.

We're going ahead with our wedding, inviting about 180 and expecting considerably fewer. Haven't received much pushback so far.

Depending on your state and if you are planning outdoors or indoors will be the biggest factors. If I was a betting person, if you have 75 outdoors in a non-hot spot location I think you have a good chance at keeping the date and current guest list. A cousin of mine is getting married in FL in spring and decided to make a decision at the end of February to cut list or not. Hang in there!! 👍
