Spring 2022…. Are you planning for the best??

Miriam, on August 20, 2021 at 10:19 PM Posted in Planning 0 12
Hi ladies! I know that none of us can predict the future, but our wedding is booked for June 2022 and we are already wondering whether the all-indoor venue is going to be impossible due to lingering covid issues. Is anyone else reconsidering moving to an outdoor space or trimming the guest list this early…. Or do you recommend waiting and watching? (Which means there will be less viable venue options later?) appreciate the input!

Wishing you the best!! I know that unpredictable feeling. We postponed from 10/10/20 (all indoors) to 10/30/21 (all outdoors). We thought a year would make a positive difference. Buuuuuut clearly life didn’t change very much. So hopefully things are truly better by your wedding date.

I'm May 15 and we're not changing our plans unless local restrictions force us to. We're fortunate that 95% of our guest list is vaccinated.

We're getting married May 20th and we're not making contingency plans. The only way we won't go ahead as planned is if one of us or our kids are sick that week. We're getting married about 40 minutes SE of Austin, TX, so we're not worried about any crazy covid restrictions ruining our plans. That's one reason we chose it. It's beautiful and the owners are like- minded about all this.

We have a wedding destination elopement for 02/02/2022. With covid, I'm afraid Sandals may shut down again. We are in a holding pattern to see at the moment. I guess if they shut down the island, we'll just marry here quietly and have our honeymoon there. We have a huge reception planned for October 2022 in our hometown. I pray everything works out for us all!!

I wouldn’t change plans yet. I would look at venues and ask about their covid cancellation policies. Things can change rapidly with covid, so I would rather waste effort and plan the wedding of my dreams then plan small and say “I wish I would’ve”.

Ours is planned for March. It's an outdoor ceremony with an indoor reception. The venue has it in their contract that if required by local restrictions, they have a sanitary team that will clean everything as we go at $30/hr. If guests start canceling, we're just going to enjoy the food and music with whoever shows up.
