Spray tan????

Lisa, on November 3, 2011 at 1:41 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12

Our wedding is next week and I obviously have not had time to tan.... a full time job, a part time weekend job and raising two little kids and one teenager lol My dress shows a lot at the top.... but I am worried that a spray tan will look orange or something and it will be too late to do anything about it. I have never had a spray tan.... do they look pretty natural? Or should I just not worry about having any color? I have no tan left from summer Smiley sad I was planning on getting a spray tan the day before and then showering the next morning to get some of it off.... will it be too dark? Anyone get a spray tan for their wedding?

I think that if you did a personalized spray tan where someone sprays you rather than a booth then you should be fine.

I have had spray tans at Zoom Tan and they turned out great or you can spend the extra and get airbrushed.

If you don't have time to try it out first, don't do it!! I tried it months in advance, thankfully. Apparently everyone's skin absorbs the proteins in self-tanners differently. The same application on another person at the salon I went to looked great; I looked like an oompa loompa. I wouldn't roll the dice on it this close to your wedding.

I did it and loved it. Google "body bronzing" and be sure to go to a place that does that, not a tanning bed that does it on the side. My lady was amazing and made me look so natural. It was nice not to feel transparent on the day of.

I personally haven't gotten a spray tan before but I recently attended my FH's cousin's wedding and she had a spray tan. It looked gorgeous in person but in a couple of photos on her facebook she looks really orange. Especially in photos were she was next to someone who had a "real tan" It didn't look too terrible but it was obvious.

I did a spray tan in a booth at Total Tan for a friends wedding and it came out fantastic. I dunno, if you have it in your area i agree with the other posters get a custom tan done, do it early so that way it has some time to fade. But spray tans have come a long way!

I like to spray tan (red hair, translucent skin), but it can look pretty orange for about the first 24-36 hours. Please do not take a shower to wash some of it off so it isn't so dark until after the time they tell you it's ok. The effect that will create is streaking and it's not pretty! And since you're only going to be doing it once, I'm with Mrs S To Be and go to someone who knows what they're doing! Good Luck Smiley smile

I actually did a trial run a few weeks ago. I went somewhere where they sprayed me instead of a booth. I did it in the evening and showered the next morning. I did the medium for me and it lasted 5 days. I loved it! I'm doing it next week again on Wednesday for the Friday wedding.

I'll give you a hint....If you do try out the spray tan and end up hating it, there is a way to remove it. Toothpaste! It's not a fun task to remove it, but at least you have a back up plan. I've seen the spray tanning done, never on myself (already have dark skin!), and in most cases it came out nice. Just be sure to talk to the tanning people, be completely open, and trust their judgement...don't try to be too risky with the colors, just go for a glow! Smiley smile

    Good luck!!!!

I have used the mystic tan, which is a booth spray tan and it has looked great every time. I have never looked orange and it even looks natural as it fades. Its more affordable than the airbrush tanning too.

Some of the srauy tan companies will try their products on a small part of skin and they ahave a remover to take it off. Those companies are usually way more expensive though
