Spray tan 5 days before wedding?

Allyson, on February 14, 2020 at 11:44 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 15
I’m in a panic because I’m getting married on the 20th and I still have faint tan lines on my chest and am wearing a strapless dress. I read that a spray tan is better than a booth but I’m really worried because I don’t have any time for a trial, and I don’t know if it will be streaky/runny/orange. Any advice?? I’ve never gotten a spray tan in my life so I’m really nervous.

Can you talk with your makeup artist and see if they can just blend your skin tone together with makeup? That seems less risky than a spray tan

I have turned orange/streaky from tanning booths, but I’ve never had a negative experience with a tan that was hand sprayed (and I’ve been to at least 10 different people over the years). If you go to a reputable person, I’m sure it will turn out great. However, as PP suggested, a makeup artist might be able to just blend those lines and remove any room for error with a spray tan.

This! Your makeup artist should be able to hide the tan lines. I would never spray tan before my wedding! Too many risks (orange, streaky, transferring to my dress, the list goes on!).

All of my wedding festivities start tomorrow so there’s no time for a trial Smiley sad but I love the hand spray recommendation!

I’m doing my own makeup, but right those are all of my concerns too! I’m adding a pic of my tan that I’m worried about in case it helps. It’s a tricky one and that’s the reason why I’d ever even consider doing something that freaks me out so much to cover itSpray tan 5 days before wedding? 1

Eeekkkk.... I see the concern. Could you maybe do a “test run” of the spray tan on an area of your body that won’t be seen? Like your upper thigh or something? I know it sounds odd, but at least you will get a feel as to how your skin will react to the spray?

I wish I could but all of the wedding festivities start tomorrow, so the only time I have to do anything else wedding prep in general is today. What a nightmare. I totally forgot about the tan lines until my final dress fitting yesterday.

How is your dress cut? Brushing on a bronzing powder might help... do you have a Sephora nearby? Might be worth popping in and seeing if one of the employees there can recommend and test out a product.

It has a sweetheart top! This pic was taken when I picked it up yesterday. You can kinda see the tan line on the left side. That’s a great recommendation though thank you!!!

Oh it’s not nearly as noticeable in that photo! Good news is your photographer will be able to edit it out of photos if needed! I still think testing the spray is a good option. Good luck!
