Spokane Micro Wedding - Multiple locations?

Theresa, on October 18, 2021 at 3:19 PM Posted in Planning 1 4

Has anyone ever had more than 2 locations for a wedding? 1) Ceremony at church - Post Falls, ID. 2) Reception dinner at a restaurant in CDA, ID and then an after party for dancing back where we live in Spokane, WA. I am finally (officially) planning my wedding for October of 2022. I'm trying to keep it as cost effective as possible. About 35-45 people. Is this too messy/disorganized to put on the guests?

Edit: Guests are immediate family and close circle of friends. only my family is flying in from out of state, everyone else is local. Ceremony to Reception is maybe 10 minutes - but because I'm not sure how many hours we would have the restaurant for I don't want to end everything early i.e. 10pm - so I'm thinking of taking the dancing part back to Spokane (35 mins) and let people dance the night away closer to home

Where are the majority of your guests from? What is the drive time between each of these venues? Are you going to be providing transportation for your guests?

Lots of people have a ceremony, reception, and after party at different locations. As long as all 3 are within reasonable driving distance of each other *and* the accommodation that most guests will use, then it's fine.

I would caution you to not put too much stake in a late night party/dancing vibe with a small guest list unless you know everyone will be into it. Note: it is completely OK to have a small guest list, but just keep your expectations realistic.

I think that's totally fine!! Our ceremony was 5 minutes from the reception venue, and then we had shuttle to take guests out to a bar afterwards if they wanted to keep the party going!! We did provide guest transportation because the majority of our guests were from out-of-town.

I think with your small local guest list that multiple locations would work!!

My only concern would be the 35 minute drive from the restaurant back to Spokane depending on how heavy of a drinking crowd you have.
