Spin-off: Is there any way to prevent the clinking glasses?

How we stopped the clinking glasses: by probably the 24th clink, I turned and kissed my MOH and hubby turned and kissed his best man. =)

MCDJ I think your right, anyone that clinks has to kiss everyone at their table would work.

My daughter requested plastic glasses for that reason. She says there will be no clinking of anything at her reception. I think as long as you don't kiss the first time they probably will get tired of clinking pretty quick.

I thought I had one on Pinterest, but I can't find it. People have made a "list" of things you have to do to get the couple to kiss instead of glasses clinking.

Am I the only one that thinks it's cute? It's your wedding day, you're supposed to me all mushy and lovey dovey....says the girl who will probably get annoyed.

The clinking didn't last very long for us. I think they stopped ten minutes into dinner. They seemed to get bored with it. Plus, there really wasn't much time for it. Dinner went quickly and was immediately followed by toasts and dancing.

We went to a wedding before ours where the bride yelled, after the clinking started, "we are not doing that, it's annoying." I guess it was just the way she said it, but it noticeably changed the mood. I told H I would rather put up with it than ruin the lively, happy atmosphere.

Ooo i love the kissing menu i realize the clinking is all fun and gmaes but why not get the guests in on the games

At my nephews wedding when the glasses were clinked, they drew a name out of a hat (decorated box, in which couples names had been placed). The couple they drew had to stand and kiss instead of the B&G. It was kinda cute when grandma and grandpa had to kiss, or another older couple, or the couple where the man had just returned from Iraq. I'm pretty sure the couples in the hat were somehow rigged.

I was a vendor at a wedding where they did this. The dj announced that the entire table had to sing a chorus of a song with Love in it. The entire table! So, it only happened 3 or 4 times. But it sure was entertaining to see the tables do it!
