Special/creative ways to ask your MOH/BM to be in your wedding?? Help :)

Tanya, on June 27, 2011 at 4:23 PM Posted in Planning 1 16

Does anyone have any ideas on how to ask the MOH and BM's to be in your wedding party?? I'm almost positive my MOH and most of my *soon to be* BM's already know I will ask them, but I want to do something nice. Any suggestions? What did you do?

Oh god i didnt really asked my MOH knew the second i called to tell her i was getting married.(i was her MOH less then a year ago). the other girls i just asked nothing special but they live 3 hours away from me now.

if i could do it over again i would invite all 3 over for a movie night of things like 27 dresses and Man of honer and find a really cheezy one to cause we love bad movies!

Cookies... i know it sounds dumb, and almost wierd, but big cookies with your question on it... wrapped up in a nice box with a ribbon, they wont know what it is, drop off at their door step and leave, then they'll call you and yea... like i said i know its kinda corny,

Yeah... about that... i didn't realize it was supposed to be like this special thing.... lol I asked my fg and rb's mom via fb message lol.... one of my bm's i just went up to her at work and was like "u know ur in my wedding right?" lol.... I mean I know it is a big deal that I want them in my wedding but.... i dunno... I didn't know the proper way to ask lol... there is still one that I haven't asked... I asked her if her kids could be the fg and rb(like i said before) but I also want her as a bm and I haven't mentioned that yet... i wanna do something to make up for the fb chat thing lol

I asked my bridal party in Nov/Dec so I found these cute ornaments on personalizationmall.com I was able to personalize it down to dress color, skin tone (which was hysterical), and hair color. Then I had their names printed on it, the word bridesmaid, and the wedding date. One of my friends actually got teary eyed because she didn't even know I was going to ask her to be in the wedding.

I thought about sending them flowers or cookies, but I have 8 bridesmaids, so that would have been really expensive. I did send my sister a flower arrangement asking her to be my MOH. She knew she was going me to be my MOH, but definitely appreciated the sentiment.

Nicole, that is the sweetest thing ever! I'm not a big internet shopper, and it prob would have helped me if i would occassionaly suck it up and do a little on the net, but i like that idea... that would have been awesome.

I purchased Corset shaped cookies from an Etsy Seller and made a homemade card with a cute little poem asking each girl and mailed it to them (even tho they live in and around 2 hours from me) just so they would have a nice surprise when they got their mail. Not many people mail things anymore - and I got a great reaction from each of the girls..they cried calling me! Smiley smile

    Poem on the card:

    You have always been there,

    more than just a friend.

You know just who I am,

    and everywhere I've been.

You're the one I can turn to,

    any hour of the day.

Seems, I only have to think of you,

and you'll be on your way.

No matter where life takes me,

    no matter where I roam,

When I'm with you my friend,

My heart feels right at home.

    So on my Wedding Day,

I will need you more than ever.

Please be my Maid of Honor (or Bridesmaid, whichever) now...

    and my friend forever!

    I had a poem too.

    The day, the dress

    The bride, the groom

    The joy, the tears

    Will all come so soon

    Professing true love

    To my husband-to-be

    With family and friends

    All watching me

    I hope the sun will

    Be shining down

    Keep your fingers crossed

    That I’ll fit my gown

    But there‘s one more thing

    That there needs to be

    And that’s to have you

    Standing with me!

I crafted green sparkley cards with old pictures of us saying "Will you be my bridesmaid?" It looked like a 3rd grader made them, but they loved it

My future mother in law just gave me the idea of asking my maid of honor by the help of starbucks. I plan on going to Starbucks while she is in class and having her come down to the library where the starbucks is located in our school when her class is over. I'm going to come up with a creative saying to have them write it on the cup and when we are down there together her coffee will be put in that personalized cup!
