Special moment with mom on wedding day

Not sure if you'd be interested in this but I've seen some really sweet "first look" photos with the moms that always make me tear up ♥️

I bought my mom (and FMIL) these from Etsy and plan on giving it to her in the morning when we're almost ready ♥️ I know she'll cry so I thought it would be put to good use 😂 Will have the photographer get some photos of us too when I give it to her and getting ready.

I’m planning to have my mom be the one to zip/button me into my dress and get some sweet pictures of just the two of us doing that. I like the idea of a “first look” picture with her!

I plan on doing something similar. Having my mom help with my straps and putting my jewelry on! You could always have your mom and step dad walk you down the aisle I have seen that before as well!

I always imagined my mom would be the one to help me get dressed, but the first look idea is really sweet as well.

My best friend gave a rose to her mom & her FMIL to honor them when she walked down the aisle right before her and her dad got to the front to meet her husband. 😊 I want to do something similar!

I really enjoyed helping daughter get ready for her wedding. We did hair and make-up, just the two of us, and then the BMs joined us for lunch, etc. We are very close, so it made sense for us to spend some time together the morning of. I helped her into her dress. (I'd seen her in her dress a million times, so a "first look" wouldn't have made much sense.) Also, we didn't do a "spotlight dance," but there is a pop-song that has a lot of meaning for us. Daughter put it on the "must play" list for the DJ and when it came on, we crazy/fast danced together, but in the midst of everyone else on the dance floor. I doubt anyone at the wedding thought of it as a "mother-daughter dance," but it was "our dance." Although I don't look particularly attractive in them, those are some of my favorite photos from the night.

If you are taking a bridal portrait in advance, you could gift it to her. I took bridal portraits and had one printed for reception decor. Before the ceremony I sat with my parents and showed them the framed photo and said after the wedding this is yours to take home right away. They were very touched to have the first photo to take home.

Also, my Mom was part of getting ready (hair and makeup) and helped me get into my dress.
