Sparklers during the wedding (not an exit)

lauren, on September 20, 2017 at 7:57 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 5

I met with our photographer last night and when I brought up the sparkler exit he suggested instead to go outside right after the cake cutting and do sparkler pictures with just the bridal party. The idea of the exit had been stressing me out so I do love this idea but I can't play it out fully in my head. Plus I think we'd do the bridal part, immediate family, and cousins (we have lots of those). Has anyone every done a mid-party sparkler photoshoot? FYI- There will be 150 people at our wedding, the cousins/bridal party idea would be about 40 people.

I think people would be confused if you suddenly left the party? But with that big of a guest list it might be fine.

I'd skip the whole sparkler thing all together. I'd want to be in the moment instead of making the whole day a photo shoot.

I would do it for your wedding photos that would be cute. But you rather be in the room you rented as long as you can.

My bff did hers during their first dance Smiley smile we all stood around the dance floor with them (it was an outdoor backyard wedding) but the pictures turned out well!

We did a fake "sparkler send-off" about an hour before the dancing ended. The people who needed to get home (was already around 11pm) left after, but I'd say most of the guests went back to the party. If you do it right after the cake-cutting, I doubt anyone would be tempted to leave (unless they were already leaving early). The pictures turn out really well, so I say go for it!
