Spanish inspired venue

Martha, on January 10, 2020 at 3:47 AM Posted in California Planning 1 5
Anyone have good recommendations for a Spanish style inspired venue in SoCal? I’ve already came across Rancho Las Lomas and looking for others with a common theme. Let me know!

I agree about Casa Romantica, San Clemente. It's a historical home and is original Spanish-style architecture, and it has a phenomenal oceanview, so there is not much to dislike about it. I've attended a wedding there and it is truly lovely. (I believe they also give you a choice of a couple of different caterers, so that's a potential plus.) The good news is there are enough "event spaces" that you have some choice about where you want your events and how you want them to flow. There are three things that might be disadvantages to that: first, many of the significant spaces are outdoors (oceanview patio, amphitheater, and the large central courtyard) and there's really just one relatively large indoor space, so you really have to be willing to bank on the weather cooperating; second, your guests will move around a lot because of the different spaces; third, I think the bathrooms are kind of inadequate for a large guest count...but that's an issue I notice. (Also, it doesn't have the same "Spanish" elements, but if you're looking in SC, look into The Casino, a friend's daughter had a gorgeous wedding there.)

If you'd consider a restaurant-type venue, you might look at El Adobe in San Juan. They have a large covered patio (adjacent to an uncovered patio) that they use for large parties/receptions. We had a milestone birthday party there years ago and they did a nice job. You're also two blocks from the old mission, so you have lots of potential for photos, etc. in San Juan.

Definitely not as authentic, Tivoli Too on Laguna Canyon has some Spanish-style elements. (Tivoli also has a sister property in Santa Ana or someplace that direction, I think it's called The Hacienda, that might be more Spanish style?)

Finally, The Muckenthaler Mansion in Fullerton is absolutely gorgeous and has some wonderful space options. (I think it was daughter's 3rd favorite venue, and not because there was anything "wrong" with it, there were just things she liked more about others.)

    Good luck!

Also, clearly not in OC, but if you're willing to brave the 91, and want Spanish style architecture, The Mission Inn in Riverside can be a stunning venue....

Hello again! I have a couple of recommendations...

Green Parrot Villa in Santa Ana has a lovely courtyard and has an indoor space as well if you prefer, or you can combine the two for a bigger guest count. I believe the courtyard holds 175 guests, and the adjoining banquet room can hold up to an additional 140 guests. Pricing isn’t bad either. https://www.greenparrotvilla.com/orange-county-wedding-location
The Hacienda in Santa Ana is also a gorgeous choice! https://the-hacienda.com/
Palomares Adobe in Pomona can definitely be an option if you’re looking for something historical and affordable. http://pomonahistorical.org/rentals-adobe.html

The Historic Cottage at San Clemente State Beach can be a great option for a Spanish vibe with an ocean view. https://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=24692
Here’s a few San Juan Capistrano venues as well. They themselves aren’t Spanish-influenced specifically, but the whole area has so many opportunities to get beautiful wedding photos in the Spanish-influenced area.
The Villa - Okay, so this one does has Spanish vibes in it and I went to a beautiful outdoor wedding here. https://www.thevillasjc.com/
The Tea House on Los Rios - they took down their wedding page in favor of a general special events page, but they definitely hold weddings (I sent them an inquiry back when I was checking out venues) and their outdoor area is super pretty! https://theteahouseonlosrios.com/about/
    Plaza de Magdalena - http://plazademagdalena.com/
Hope this helps and good luck!
