Spa day before wedding

Ryan , on May 8, 2017 at 11:21 AM Posted in Planning 0 13

I was planning on getting my FW a day at the spa the day before wedding. I figured she could go in the morning. The spa said would be about 3.5 hours. Would be a hot stone massage, mini facial, manicure, pedicure and foot massage. Is this something I should make the day before wedding or should I do the Thursday before. We don't have any set up or decorating (venue does that) the day before so thought this would be relaxing. I could handle any last minute things. Also should I buy her MOH and BM a package also?

Don't book her a facial, that can really really mess her complexion up. Massage, mani, and pedi would be perfect. If you can swing it for MOH and BM you can do it not essential.

As long as she doesnt have super sensitive skin that turns red after facials, I think the day of will be fine. My friend wants to do the same for me, so I am thinking the day of will work. I would, however, find out if she has things lined up that day already, such as HMUA, pictures, etc. Then make your decision based on that.

If you could do the package for the party, that would be sweet of you. However, you definitely are not required to do so.

ETA: Just saw you said day Before, oops.

I would see if you can just buy a giftcard for those services and give it to her and let her decide which day to use it on. I know my MOH (my sister) is already planning what day we should go get our nails done before the wedding, and u wouldn't want things to conflict.

But that is really sweet of you and I'm sure she'll love it!

If it was my FH getting me that, I'd really like it the day before Smiley smile It would be really refreshing and the manicure and pedicure would be fresh for the wedding! It's totally up to however you feel on getting her MOH and BMs the package too.. if she likes company, then yes. If she just wants quiet time before the wedding, then no. I hope I helped !

Hmm, DH and I went for a mani-pedi the day before so that is a good idea. The one thing i have seen about facials, you want it done at least 2 weeks before hand in case of any breakouts or reactions.

You don't have to buy the other packages, it is super thoughtful though. Why don't you guys do it together? DH and I did a couple's message during our honeymoon.

Ask her. I would be freaked out if I had a lot to do the day before the wedding, and FH surprised me with this.

Thank you all. I have never had a facial so didn't even think of the things mentioned.

@susan k that's a good idea. I'll look into a gift card. Hmmmm do guys really get their nails done? @deniseD I have a couples massage booked in the Turks on the beach

I honestly would do it a couple days out (so if your wedding is Saturday, do it Wednesday or Thursday). Facials especially should be done a couple days (if not a week or two) out from any major event so that way if her skin gets irritated at all it'll have time to calm down before pics/makeup etc.

If I was gifting this, I would honestly make a girls day of it and include the MOH, BM and both Moms (and any female siblings). However, if she wants quiet, alone time then don't include them.

But I agree in either a gift card or setting up some way to pay for the services she wants and not the ones she doesn't.

This is incredibly sweet of you to offer her and I would def ask her preference how she'd like to go about things.

And yes guys get their nails (both hands and feet done). It would be more exfoliating, massaging, and cleaning things up. Typically there's no polish but they buff your nails, clean cuticles etc so you feel better and look more presentable.

I did mine on Wed (for my Friday wedding) - my mom and I went- it was nice- we had a massages- facials and pedicures.

I wouldn't have wanted that the day before- it would have been stressful to squeeze that in- the day prior to that is probably okay.

For me, I'd want it a couple of days out (Thursday) not only because I'll have wedding tasks the day before, but also because I'll have family visiting from out of town arriving that Thursday night and I want the option to spend more time with them outside of the wedding.

Not too sure a out day before...just thinking if she is sensitive to something they use on her skin it could cause a reaction. I do think this is so sweet though maybe week before?
