SOooo I kinda miss wedding planning....

Stevie Rae, on October 27, 2011 at 4:48 PM Posted in Planning 0 22

Any other married women feel this way!? I was engaged for 2 yrs and planning for more than half of that. You put so much time and effort in for the event, to go by soo fast! At least a lot of my gf's are getting married so I get to attend their beautiful weddings! =)

I am still planning and will be for a long time... I'm already getting the feeling though that when this is all over I will be sad! I'm such a project oriented person and this is a LARGE project! I'll just have to start planning something else I guess!

I missed it a ton until a new project fell into my lap. 2 weeks after our wedding my brother, 32, was diagnosed with stage 2 cancer. He is a single father and receives zero help from his ex-wife in regards to taking care of the kids. I started selling those rubber bracelets that read "Cancer Its a word not a sentence." It has started consuming my life. I am enjoying finding different ways to help him and all cancer patients in the area. I'm now organizing a group for the local cancer walk...making t-shirts and all.

All that AND baby making takes up a lot of time Smiley smile

I DO miss doing the DIY projects but the headaches, stress, drama -- I don't miss. LOL. I just dealt with a lot of sour bitter people who didn't get invited and kinda gave me a hard time about it. I swear, the DAY after the wedding I felt so relieved and I felt like a brand new person!!! I love to decorate and party-planner type of person so I did enjoy that aspect of the wedding planning ... I'm throwing a wine party in 2 weeks so I'm excited for that =)

I don't really have time to miss it. My best friend is getting married next year and I am her MOH so we went from my wedding to hers. We have a lot of planning to do with hers. I'm sure once that is all over I might go through withdraws though.

I know exactly what you mean! I love planning events! I really thought I'd be happy when all the planning was done, I kept saying I can't wait until this wedding is over with but I so miss it. It consumes so much of your life and when it's over you begin to wonder what to do with your time. Granted I have a new husband to keep me busy : ) but I miss planning.

The New Mrs. Seedes - so sorry to hear about your brother. I'll keep him and your family in my prayers. Sounds like you are really making an effort to help raise awareness and that is fantastic!

I know what you mean. Now that its over I am a little bummed. I miss the planning and the anticipation. I would love to relive the day, but you know that wont happen so I am trying to find new projects. I have a 20 month old so he keeps me busy, and also I am looking for a new job.

Do you guys own your own house? FH and I are planning a lot of stuff to do with our wedding but we're actually buying a house and hope to move in January. After the wedding is over I'm sure I'll go into Martha Stewart mode with decorating and renovating.

Also, got any friends getting married? You can help them plan their weddings!

I miss the planning. I need to find something to fill the void. We purchased a house so during the wedding planning it was making our house a home. So I guess for now I can just work on baby making and that stuff. But I miss being so busy, I mean I work full time but I need to be busy all the time.

@ Nicole D. ..... girl let me tell you, we closed on our house the same week of the wedding, talk about stress!!! They kept pushing our closing date back, who knows why? But we are slowly still doing house projects but everything has pretty much come together! Good luck with all your house shopping! My best friend since 3rd grade just got married last weekend so I helped her alot, but no more to go to as of right now!

Man I thought it was just me. I still have my bride bag hanging on my br door. I'm planning a family cruise for next year and that is kinda filling a void. And it's cheaper lol.

I feel that way constantly... I miss it. I walk into a craft store and feel lost these days. It's weird not being on the hunt for stuff.

On top of that I feel a little sad when I find cute stuff in my wedding colors and have no reason to buy it. lol.

Sometimes... it's the second weekend without wedding projects for me. I love being married though :-) And I still don't feel like all other life projects that are patiently waiting for my attention.

I know I will miss it! I'm having a 2014 wedding so I will be planning/engaged for 3 years. I'm going to enjoy every minute of it before it's over!
