It's so hard. My priest is very picky. I'm only using instrumental songs, and a mariachi band.

It's my understanding that the Catholic church will give you a list of songs that they allow and you get to chose from that list.

Nancy T is spot on, most likely your music ministry has some selections for you to pick from.

Make an appointment with the organist/pianist who will be playing at your ceremony and go

    From there.

Exactly what Miranda said! The organist/musician that regularly does the music for your church will help you figure this out.

Your church should be able to provide some suggestions. Keep in mind that most mainstream songs will be unacceptable. Our organist mentioned someone requested to come into the Star Wars theme lol. That won't fly in most churches.

Talk to the music ministry at your church, as PPs have said. It definitely all has to be Catholic/religious music, mostly classical. Just as an example, for our full mass we are doing:

Bm/parent processional: Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring

    Bride processional: Canon in D

    Responsorial: Celtic Alleluia

    Presentation of Gifts: Ubi Caritas

    Communion: Panis Angelicus

    Recessional: Ode to Joy

They should give you a list. Our priest told us we would get a list later on.

We are have instrumental music with the Mariachi but it had to be approved.

Talk to your priest first, in my experience ( I used play music for weddings, most were Catholic churches) some churches are funny about the type of music, while others are more open minded.
