Song for bride to walk down the aisle

ReadyToBeRebuffi, on September 11, 2018 at 10:32 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 20

Hi yall!

I'm absolutely obsessed with Haley Reinhart's version of "I can't help falling in love with you", and my great grandmother's favorite artist has always been Elvis, so I was thinking about walking down the isle to it. However, would it be lame if I literally had the song playing rather than someone singing it? Also, I wouldn't want the entire song to play because I won't be walking that long of a time down the isle... so would it be okay to just play the first quarter of the song covered by Haley Reinhart?

Also, any ideas on songs for the BP when they walk down?

Thanks in advance!

I walked down to that version of Can’t Help Falling in Love! I paused at the door to just take it all in and then took my first steps when she said “only fools rush in” 😂😂

we used The Wedding Song by Matthew Mole for our BP, but it’s a religious song, so maybe not for everyone

That’s so wonderful, congratulations. I’m walking down to that song, but it’ll be played by the box tree orchastra! That’s so exiting! It’s totally your wedding day which means you make the rules! So of course that’d be okay! When’s the big day?

RUELLE - I Get To Love You (Official Music Video)

I have been IN LOVE with this song, I'm walking down the aisle to it, because out of everyone in the world I get to love my FH.

    Hello, ReadyToBeRebuffi!

I LOVE that song!!! I absolutely don't think it would be lame to have the song playing instead of someone singing it!! I know a lot of other couples in our community play their own music as they walk down the aisle! And you can totally play the part of the song that you want for walking down the aisle without doing the whole song. I think it'll be such a beautiful moment and the song will just reinforce all the feels your guests (and FS) will have!

As for the BP, I found some past discussions and a WeddingWire article with great suggestions from other community members Smiley smile

I actually prefer instrumentals for processionals.

I don't quite know how the logistics work of doing partial songs, multiple songs, etc., but I suppose that's the DJ's job. (I have yet to meet with mine to dicuss this)

It's totally fine to play the actual song instead of getting someone to do it live! Just have it play while you walk down it will be fine no one would have expected you to play more than a quarter of the song anyway

You can definitely play the actual song! I've seen people do that a lot. And yes, it's totally fine if you only play the first part and have it fade out. (btw, I absolutely love that song too! we're having an instrumental cover for our processional!)

Check out Vitamin Strong Quartet (VSQ) cover of Can't Help Falling in love. It says it's a cover of Michael Buble's cover but it sounds right. I'm using that for my FH grandmother, his parents, and my mother to walk down the aisle to.

You all are so great!! Thank you for all the wonderful advise and kind words. Also, thank you for some of the options provided for the BP to walk down to. Only 37 days left (and lord knows a lot still left to do) but this definitely helped knock the song situation off the list!

    Thanks friends!

I’m just having music play on speakers at my ceremony! Not sure how it will work out, but musicians/ceremony dj are some things we are choosing not to do to better fit our budget. I’m still deciding on songs too...I didn’t even think about having a separate song for the BP and myself! Once I read the comments I realized how many people do that lol oops!

This is the song I want to use as well, but it’s so long... is there a spot you found good to cut it to time it with getting to your FH?

Hello. This song is actually in the running for our "first dance" song. I am still trying to decide what to walk down to. Our DJ is also doing the ceremony music. I think playing a part of the song is fine! If you have a DJ they should be able to fade the song so it ends beautifully and not end abruptly

I think most people have the actual song played by the DJ, so totally fine. You can work out with the DJ which part of the song you want played and they will figure out the best place in the song to cut it off or fade out. I walked to "Make You Feel My Love" by Adele and my husband and small wedding party walked to "Take A Change On Me" by ABBA.

I had the mothers and grandmothers walk down to the original Elvis Version of that songSmiley heart I had my bridal party walk down the aisle to "Marry Me" by Train, and I walked down to "At Last I See the Light" by Mandy Moore.

Such a beautiful song! We thought about using that one too, but opted for instrumental songs. The DJ played that one during our reception for us.

I think it's fine to play the actual song rather than do it live. She has such a beautiful voice! I would ask your DJ what part of the song he thinks should be played.

I LOVE this song! Only my soon to be sister-in-law is using this and it would be very wrong of me to use it (im getting married first) when she has already told me she was using this song. And I love her lots so no stealing her song. Now everything I listen to, to find the (2nd) perfect song just doesn't sound good. Smiley cry Smiley winking
