I’m so sorry to hear about the loss of your gramma Elizabeth. I love angels. What a special piece that was given to you to remind you that your gramma is always there by your side. 🥰

I would say accessories like a veil or maybe jewelry like a family heirloom.

I will be borrowing my mom's pearl necklace. Mine recently broke and I told her "I really need to get a new one before the wedding," and she replied, " you could just borrow mine."

So my "something borrowed" just came along naturally, or maybe my mom was planning it, but I'm really happy with it.

Mine is more of an “old” and “borrowed” combined. I was able to get ahold of my great-grandmother and great-grandfather’s wedding bands. They are the only ones we know who were married all the way until death. He passed over 30 years ago. She is now 96 and has never married again. She was able to give me her ring personally, but she said my grandma had the father’s ring. We went back and forth about me deserving it because I am one of 3 descendants (my dad, me, my brother) who have great-grandpa’s last name. My great-grandparents had three girls so all their names changed with marriage. Although mine will change, I will then pass it to my brother when he finds a wife.

My dad is a retired police chief and my fiancé is also a police officer, so I'm having their police department patches sewn into the lining of my dress so I can have them both with me. Conveniently, both patches are also blue!

My wedding was 2 months ago and my Matron of Honor let me borrow a handkerchief trimmed in lace that her grandmother had made. It also qualified as Something Old, though officially, that was my late Mom's gold and diamond cross necklace. After the wedding, my MOH let me keep the handkerchief.

Oh, how nice!! I love that! We are also a "blue" family: our son is a police officer. Two uncles and a cousin were NYPD. Two other cousins were police officers in New Rochelle and Yonkers, NY. A great uncle of my Dad's was the police chief here in our town over 40 years ago. Congratulations and good luck!!

Thank you! I do treasure it! My BFF/MOH was very close to her grandmother, so yes, it's very special.
