Someone steal your wedding?

Ashley, on November 19, 2019 at 7:21 PM Posted in Planning 0 17
Have you all ever experienced someone have so many aspects of your wedding on social media? It happened to me twice. I had to tell one person because she would have easily said I stole her ideas. Same colors, many of the same vendors, similar menu items, same decor ideas. It was crazy!

I didn't. But then again, the only person I told about my ideas was my wife, so it would have been hard for anyone to steal them.

I should clarify it was a coincidence. I didn't share my ideas.

Unless it's something crazy original, I don't think there are many "unique" wedding ideas. There are just a bunch of trends that get recycled on a pretty regular basis, especially with Pinterest and other social media posts; it's hard to imagine much that is "original."

Personally, I would take it as a compliment that someone liked my ideas enough to "steal" it xD. I likely don't own the idea, so there would be no point in throwing a fit over it (like some people do, not saying that you do/did). It means you have good taste Smiley smile

I haven’t yet but I’m going to my high school best friends wedding this weekend and I have a strong feeling that it’s going to be very similar to what I have planned! The venue she booked is one we almost booked. And it’s the Saturday before thanksgiving. Mine is also the Saturday before thanksgiving! I got her invite and the colors were burgundy, green, and pale pink which I was considering. We don’t talk as much as we used to so I don’t know the details of her wedding, but we’ve always had very similar tastes. Hers will probably be a bit more rustic than mine though!

It happens tho can't stop someone from using ideas or things that are somewhat alike what you're wanting to have/use at your wedding.

Sometimes you gotta just 😂 and keeping on trucking along...

My best friend got married in October, 6 months before mine. I told her some ideas I wanted for mine, she’s my matron and I was her maid, and she ended up using some of the ideas for her wedding so now I’m back to the drawing board with some and others I’ll still do!

In that case, it wasn't really stealing. But I can see it would be hard if your wedding came second, and many of the attendees were the same.

Mine too. Which isn't surprising because it is a DB dress but whatever I decided I don't care.

I was in two wedding this year and they literally chose the exact same color and dress type from Azazie! It was crazy. It was super nice for me being a bridesmaid!!! That being said the weddings were so so different. It didn't feel like anyone "stole" anything.
