Solder rings before wedding?

megl, on April 25, 2017 at 12:25 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 18

I have 2 diamond bands for each side of my engagement ring. Should I have them soldered before the wedding? Or wear 1 band and just have the 2nd band put on during the ceremony?

I'll probably be soldering them before the wedding.

It is up to you on what you want to do. There is not right or wrong with this

Personal choice...Either works. Mine is a wrap so I'll start the ceremony off with a naked finger.

I got mine soldered. I can't wait to put it back on lol. Same as @ambrok, starting the ceremony with nothing on my finger.

It's really up to you. I personally would wait to solder it until after the ceremony because I like the idea of just putting it on during the ceremony and having the engagement ring already there.

I am having mine soldered before the wedding... going miss having my ring but I'd rather not have to be without it after the wedding. I was told to bring mine in a month before the wedding. It takes two weeks for it to be completed but they wanted extra leeway in case I didn't like it or it took longer.

My band is contoured so I can't imagine wearing it without my e-ring, I want them soldered because my e-ring is top heavy and spins on my finger and I'll spend way too much time trying to keep them lined up correctly lol

I'm probably going to have them soldered before the wedding too. I just don't want to take it off after!

I'm soldering my two diamond bands to my engagement ring. I'm sending it out a few weeks before the wedding just in case.

My bands are contoured around my ering, I couldn't wear just one band. I have a silicone Enso ring for work, I'd probably just wear that if I didn't want to wear the whole thing.

Personally, I was not sure I liked the idea of soldering my band to my e-ring. I felt there was a chance that I would want to wear just my band at times. I realized it made more sense for me to keep them separate for now and decide after having worn both unsoldered for a while, when I would have a better idea if I always wanted them on together, if I did sometimes wear the band alone, if the band and e-ring separated a lot while wearing then and if it bothered me, etc. So far, I'm glad I didn't solder them.

I wore my e-ring on my left hand like normal on my wedding day and DH slipped the band on the outside during the ceremony. I flipped the order during cocktail hour.

I will be soldering mine before the wedding. They are both custom, and I want to make sure they fit tightly for pictures so I don't have to worry about it. I have a cheap silicone ring from Amazon that I will wear while they are being soldered.

You could just do it after. I had the wrap and solitaire that make up my ering soldered together at a local jeweler and it took an hour...same when I had them separated.

I am soldering mine before the wedding and then not wearing them and keeping them in a safe place until the wedding. I will wear a different ring for the few weeks before my wedding. FH will then put the soldered ring on my finger during the ceremony. Not like anyone notices if they put the entire ring on or just the band anyways.

I'm not getting mine soldered, but just wanted to throw this out there. My coworker got hers soldered ten years ago when she got married and regrets it. She mentioned last week how she wished she hadn't. Totes up to you, but do you think there'll ever be a time that you just want to wear your band (vacation etc)?

I am having it done before the wedding. I also have two bands and I don't like how they won't always line up so I need them soldered.

My jeweler recommended not soldering in the event you wanted to pass an engagement ring to a future daughter or whatever.

Just a little nugget for you, if you want it.
