We are at the one year mark and I'm already dreading the rest of planning. I have my dad who is complaining that FH and I arent telling him anything about the wedding (there is nothing to share, he knows the date place and time. That's all he needs to know) FMIL already buying us decorations that dont go with our theme (its very nice and thoughtful, but please stop buying barnyard/rustic items for our Halloween wedding), my mom going complete overboard with her and my attire (yes mom I know you're excited but please don't wear a spiderweb cape lol) and trying to get a general idea for FH side of the guest list has been a nightmare. Him and I made the list and pretty much finalized it, and asked his mom for addresses and she literally crossed people off and added other people. We didnt ask to edit the people, we just wanted addresses. Everyone means well and I get it, but we are paying for this wedding by ourselves and I would like everyone that is not me or my FH to please step out it planning and let us handle it. We have everything under control

I completely understand where you're coming from. FMIL seems to only care about how glamorous of an outfit she HAS to wear and the only thing she ever says about our wedding is complaining about FH's dad and new wife being there. I love my mom to death, but she's also been buying/making stuff left and right without showing anything to me first and it just doesn't fit with what we're doing. My side of the guest list has caused a lot of drama this week, but thankfully that has started to blow over. Now we've moved up our wedding by 2 1/2 months, so I've got to get the ball rolling on stuff I thought I had plenty of time for lol. I will be SO relieved once this wedding is over with, I just want to have a good day and never have to think about the process again.

I just want to marry my FH. I dont care about the little stuff. Everyone is obsessing over what decorations and stuff we are picking and telling us we are going too overboard with the halloween stuff. Apparently adding some skulls as decor on tables is too much. FH and I are picking what we want for our wedding. If guests judge us, who cares. I got into an argument with my mom because I wanted to wear black shoes. Like what?? Everyone but me and FH are concerned about stupid stuff like that

I can see how incredibly frustrating that is. Just remember this day is about you and your FH. do what makes YOU happy.
on the other hand - i wish someone would be that involved to help me plan lol

I too am so over planning this wedding! I'm just now at the 1 year mark and I feel like I've been planning for 2 years (which I have, slowly booking stuff here and there) and now I'm over it.
