So I've gained 6lbs since I bought my dress and it was already tight to begin with...

Mrs. Turner2B, on July 9, 2010 at 1:38 AM Posted in Planning 0 19

I just can't motivate myself to lose weight!!! I was SO close...just 4lbs away when I tried it on and instead I gained and now I need to lose 10 lbs before the wedding and I can't get motivated to stick to a healthy diet and exercise. And I'm 4 months away from the big day. I'm starting to freak out. Smiley sad What to do???

Motivate yourself by thinking you'll wear sweat pants instead of that gorgeous gown if you don't lose it??

I don't know! Do you drink any soda? I would cut that out. Also, cut out any extra sodium/salt that you eat. That will keep you from retaining water, or being bloated.

Find at least of work out buddies. if you only have one the two of you are more likely to decide to wimp out but more then two builds a commitment among you. also start dieting by only trying to eat one healthy meal a day. setting smaller goals helps you to stick to them and slowly do more over time instead of trying to do it all at once.

That was meant to say "at least two work out buddies"

I am a month and a half away and started exercising again this week. What helps me? - I turned my sister to the dark side and she is now my workout buddy hahaha. It helps when someone keeps me accountable. You have anyone you can use as a buddy?

My dress fit just right when I bought it and would look better if I lost weight. So I joined Weight Watchers in Dec. and lost 5 lbs when I did it consistently. Took a couple months off and when I started again I lost 5 more. I lost 11, but now have gained some but am down about 5 overall. It is not that expensive and it works.

If you have an iTouch or iPhone, then download this app called "Lose It" it has you log everything you eat and tells you how many calories a day you can eat to lose 1 lb a week.

If you don't have either of those electronics, then do a similar thing by keeping a calorie log journal. Look up online how many calories a day you burn and how much under that you should eat to lose 1lb a week. I just checked this website http://caloriecount.about.com/cc/calories-burned.php and it gave me almost the same answer as the "Lose It" one (it was a difference of 10 calories, so I figure that's just the typical margin of error)

Write down everything you eat and how many calories it is. Once you start seeing how much you are eating... you stop snacking as much and start refusing that third portion of the amazing mashed potatoes in favor of staying under your daily calorie limit.

I agree with Lavonne..try Diurex too..it's a water retention pill a lot of women use during their period..drink TONS of water with it. There is also a "Slimquick" Cleanse if you are having digestive problems and want fast results..again drink tons of water. Otherwise get a pedometer..and try to get OVER 10,000 steps..it has motivated me to walk more just cuz there are digital numbers staring at me from my hip :-)

Do the 30 day shred by Jillian Michaels! 1/2 an hour a day and you're done! I am a MOB and have been doing it for 3 weeks now. I have lost inches. The first four days, I actually cried as I was doing the exercises, but now I can get through it fine. Hardest half an hour a day, but OH SO WORTH IT!

I feel your pain, lol! When I found my dress I was in between two sizes and she asked me if I wanted her to order the bigger or the smaller size. I was like "hell no, order the smaller size". She told me "okay, but you have to promise me you will lose the 10 lbs" and I was like "yeah, no problem". Well 15 lbs later (so now I have to lose 25 lbs) I'm standing here panicking. I've lost about 9 lbs but need to lose several more pounds before I fit into my dress. I am eating right but need to start working out to speed up the process and I myself can't really get motivated to do that too but I know I need to because I don't want all that money to go to waste (the cost of the dress).

Don't gain any more weight! You are toooooooo close and the more you gain the harder it is to lose and the more discouraged you get so as Nike says "just do it". We all have to start, I have less time than you and more to lose. It can be done, 6 lbs really isn't a lot to lose and you have plenty of time if you focus and do what you have to do. Just think of it this way, once you lose the weight you can sit back and breathe a sigh of relief that you don't have to be stressing about that anymore, you can enjoy the last few months of wedding planning without any more added stress and lord know we don't need any more stress in the process, lol!

    I'm gonna bust a move!

I have about 3.5 months before the event!

I hear ya! I have never cared about my weight. I was ready to smack DS last night bc he made a comment on how much bigger my boobs have gotten (bc I've gained weight). He was feeling pretty good so I let the comment slide-not that I really care anyway, though! LOL. But I seriously had to suck it all in for my wedding dress! My MatronOH was taking pics as I was getting ready and there's one of me going, "Oh ISH! I don't know if I'm going to fit in this!" LOL. And mind you I wore it the month prior! So eat healthy and do some "exercise" if you know what I mean Smiley winking
