So i have a food question??? (African & American Wedding)

tega, on May 30, 2014 at 7:19 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 18

I'm having a catered food from an African restaurant for my wedding reception... But my venue (the hilton hotel) will also be providing food.. so my question is what should the hilton provide??

150ppl

African Food

----------------

Jollof rice

Fish

Beef

Meatpie

Meat on a stick (Suya)

So they are bringing about 3 trays each ... Now im undecided what the hilton should provide.. I have $5000 minimum to spend... I need ideas thanks...

I know I don't think it would add up. Maybe a food station like a potato bar or pasta bar, along with the cocktails and apps.

Potato or pasta bar plus Jollof rice (YUMMM), plus meatpie is a lot of carbohydrates (not to knock ur suggestion allidb8579).

Alcohol and cocktail food may actually tend to add up.

It depends on your guests and if they're much of drinkers in the first place.

I suggest that they add some greens (like a salad of some sort)...you have enough meat options already.

Maybe have them provide some desserts as well? My venue serves ice cream at the end.

Or... i went to one wedding where they had bruschetta with goat cheese as part of the apps during cocktail hour and it was delicious.

    Hope that helps Smiley smile

You are right meat pie does have lots of carbs( what you know about meatpie lol) ... but im sure i won't be eating lol .. I was thinking of a salad and pasta station .. the pasta station is $17 a person so thats not bad ... i will ask about desert... i do have enough meats and i dont want too much food where ppl cant get it all lol..

I'd say appetizers, a great big salad and some desserts. Sounds delicious!
