So about that back cleavage...

Ugh. So I had my first dress fitting on Monday (yay!) but looking at the pictures my mom took of my bustle, I've noticed the dreaded back cleavage. It's a low-ish-back dress, so my seamstress told me it had to be tight around the waist because there's really not much else to hold it up--the straps...

It's a low-ish-back dress, so my seamstress told me it had to be tight around the waist because there's really not much else to hold it up--the straps are for decoration, not support.

Any thoughts? I am working out/dieting but I don't even know if I can lose enough weight in time. The dress fits perfectly other than that and some minor changes with the keyhole back. Is this just something I'll have to deal with??

It's not really too noticeable unless you look for it but I can see what you are talking about. I think it's because the dress is too tight. Can she loosen it a little bit?

Hello date twin! I'm having the same problem with my gown. But you look absolutely amazing in yours! I love the keyhole back! My coworker said that her trainer friend said the easiest way to get that part of the body toned and look great for strapless/backless dresses is by jumping rope. She said to just jump rope each day until you exhaust yourself. I'm not much of a workout person but that sounds easy enough to do so I'm going to try it myself.

    You look amazeballs!

ps: back fat, will always be there. No amount of working out will not make you critique it :-)

This is what my wedding dress consultant taught us to do and it worked! My dress hit at a similar point in my back.

After you do up your dress, have someone put their two index fingers, pointing down, into the 'back crack', and spread their fingers to either side. Hence 'the spread'.

If you had a lot there it wouldn't do much, but since it's only tiny this should do the job for you!

First of all, you look AWESOME in your dress! I see no back cleavage.

However, I do have the back cleavage in my dress :-( The lady at the shop told me the same thing yours is saying...that is has to be that tight to hold up the dress. But like @KLo said, if you have someone spread it out with their index finger it does wonders!

Thanks all!!! I'm glad I'm not alone in the struggle Smiley smile

@klo--thanks for the tip!! I'll designate someone as my official back fat spreader for the day. It'll be such an honor!

I second what kLo said. I went to a fitting with my girlfriend and that's what the consultant showed us. After she laced her up, she took her fingers and did "the spread" and voila! You really don't have much to worry about though Smiley smile
