A good bartender will cut someone off.

I don't blame them for wanting to sneak in alcohol.

I don't blame them for wanting to bring alcohol. It's not like you're holding your reception at a church where a no booze rule for the venue would be understandable. Your wedding is taking place in an atmosphere where booze is allowed. People will be celebrating and it's understandable they might want a celebratory drink, or several.

What is the cruise ship's policy on passengers bringing drinks on board? I think for our honeymoon, were were allowed to bring some alcohol, but there was a limit. It's not likely the security check at the port will be able to deny passengers from bringing a certain amount of unopened bottles on board because it's probably allowed.

Personally, I'd just spring for alcohol to be available to your guests during your reception.

Any dry wedding I was invited to (3) I brought booze into, sorry not sorry. Dry weddings are awful in my opinion.

A cruise ship is such a party atmosphere. Having a dry wedding on a cruise ship is a hard for me to wrap my mind around.

A good bartender will keep their eyes out for outright obnoxious behavior. Good luck!!

Yeah if I'm going to a party that I can't just up and leave when I'm bored I'm totally sneaking in alcohol too.

You're having a dry reception on a cruise?? Sorry but I think this is tacky. People are spending so much money to come and celebrate with you and you won't even buy them a drink?

And everyone will be even rowdier if they drink with no way of being cut off by a professional bartender.

This is a poorly planned event.

I am trying to wrap my head around a dry wedding on a cruise. Aren't cruises the poster children for drinking? By keeping it dry you are inviting people to sneak it onboard.

Serve up some beer and wine, girl!!!

She said only some of the guests are actually going on the cruise, most are just boarding for the wedding and then exiting before the cruise takes off.

I honestly hate cruises, they make me anxious. My brother had a cool yacht for his reception (it went pretty slow just around the harbor) and I was uncomfortable on it at first. He provided beer and wine and I lightened up and was able to enjoy myself. You can’t just leave the reception unless you jump overboard so expect people who need or want alcohol to sneak it on lol

But do those guests not cruising have to pay for parking? Are they traveling?
