DEAL BREAKER!! Smokers smell like smoke 24/7 and I am not about that smell or the habit. Someone working through the habit is different but an active smoker? no way

I hate the fact that he vapes, it causes me legitimate physical pain every time I see him do it. He told me he planned to quit when we move in together in December, and I was dealing with waiting until then. HOWEVER he surprised me today by informing me that he is almost out of his vape liquid stuff and he is not going to buy anymore, and as soon as it's gone, he's finally quitting cold turkey. Even though he'll likely be a surely jerk for a while, I know it's the withdrawals and not him (he's also cutting out energy drinks). I'm really excited and happy for him finally deciding to make healthier decisions with his life.

Deal breaker. I try really hard not to judge new people if they smoke.. you can be a good person if you're a smoker, but it's just so icky

Dealbreaker. I’ve dated smokers in the past but I’m not a fan at all and don’t want my children growing up around it.

Deal breaker. Aside from all the health reasons, that I know smokers know and make the choice reguardless, the smoke makes me physically sick... I could be right up next to it, or 50 feet away. If I can smell it, it makes me sick..

100% a deal breaker. I have no desire to hang out with people that smoke much less date someone that does.

Right now, deal breaker. When I met my FH a bunch of years ago, we were both smokers. He, a lot heavier than I, but we both quit since and he has an e-cig to help him cope with some stress he might want a cigarette for.

Deal breaker. I mean FH use to but that was before. The people we know that smoke, everything smells like it including their homes, and that is not something I really want to be around or live in.

It was on my list of “I don’t want” traits for my spouse until I met FH.

My Mom was so much of a Smoker, I would wash clothes, hang them to dry, pack them in a 💼, go out of town, take them out, and they’d smell like 🚬.

So, I didn't really want to deal with that anymore.

He is considerate enough to smoke in the Bathroom versus all over the 🏠.

Used to always be a deal breaker for me with previous relationships until FH picked up the habit again (he smoked before we got together). Hate it with every fiber of my being, but at least now he's quit cigarettes and moved to vaping. One step at a time.

If i have to choose I'd say red flag. FH smokes cigars every now and then when he drinks but it's not constant thankfully.

So annoying. says he wants to quit - but never does. doesn't even try. theres always an excuse. i'm a two time cold turkey quitter. I know its hard but you have to have self control.
