Small/inexpensive/intimate wedding ideas

Amber, on October 18, 2020 at 8:04 PM Posted in Planning 0 9

Good evening, My fiancé and I have always wanted to go away to get married. We both have always been big on going away for our wedding but my father's health isn't the greatest and I'm afraid I am limited with destination wedding spots. We are leaning towards having a small ceremony/reception of about 70 people (close friends and family) but we are having a hard time coming up with something that isn't going to break the bank or that doesn't require at least 100 people min.

You could rent out a restaurant for an evening?

Peerspace.com is mostly under 100 guest venues. Also check out Eventective.com and set the filters for the capacity you need.

Is there any family or friends that have a house and backyard you could use?

Look into a restaurant, a smaller hotel or even parks etc.

Go with a restaurant, especially if you are not planning on having any kind of dancing.

Are you looking for specific recommendations in specific cities?

I’d still like to have the traditional first dance, father/daughter, and mother/son dance. Just looking for a more affordable venue. Specifically something that’s going to not break the bank and that goes more with the outdoorsy feel, even a white tent reception could be a possibility.

I wish! Popping a white tent in someone’s backyard would be my style. I just want to have something smaller and more intimate that won’t break the bank.

Hmmm I also recommend you look at renting a portion of a restaurant or a room in an art gallery. Also, look into renting a park shelter room. In your city or another city adjacent to your area. Those are pretty affordable and some can be completely indoors.
I had my HS graduation party in this shelter house. It was $65 an hour when my parents rented it a decade ago. I looked online and its now $80 per hour. And one could bring in their own food.Small/inexpensive/intimate wedding ideas 1
