Small wedding/dancing

We're planning on having between 50-70 guests, depending on how many people bring a +1. Is that too small to have a 'traditional' wedding, with a DJ, and dancing? Would it look/feel awkward with such a small amount of guests? Dancing is a pretty big must have for me but I'm also trying to have a smaller wedding and not break the bank with having a huge guest list.

    My wedding has the same range as you (70 invited, but a lot may not come from out of state) and I'm doing dj and dancing! I was mildly concerned but I know at the very least our 10-12 friends plus my younger cousins will be on the dance floor! To compromise though, we're keeping it short. 30 minute ceremony, cocktail hour, then 3 hours for dinner + dancing. Then if anyone wants to keep partying we're going to have an after party.

    Its not too small if they are people that like to dance and boogie it up!

    If they are mostly shy, reserved people, then I wouldn't expect much dancing

    We're in our early 20's and about 20 of our guests are friends our age so *hoping* they'll want to dance. And that's around the time frame I'm thinking of as well. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one with a small wedding wanting a DJ Smiley smile

    We had a slightly larger group and everyone was dancing all night.

    You know your crowd better than we do...plenty of my 'smaller' weddings have had lots of dancing!
