Small Wedding Budget

Future Mrs. Coombs, on May 13, 2013 at 6:00 PM Posted in Planning 0 30

What is your budget, if you have a wedding guest list less than 50 (including the wedding party)? Our budget for our wedding with up to 45 people is $5000.

We are also doing a small wedding. 60 guests, $5,000 budget.

Ceremony will be in a beautiful public park overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Santa Monica, CA. (FREE) and we are having a backyard reception at our home (again, FREE) We love DIY projects, so that will be another way to save.

All venues we looked at were about $5,000 for the place alone, not including catering so we decided to have a small, intimate but fun and elegant backyard reception.

I'm really excited about working with this budget.

I'm nervous about working with my budget. We'll be having ours in San Antonio. We managed to find a place that will host our ceremony and reception for $3000. That's including all chairs, linens, decor and food. To me this sounds like a good deal but I'm not sure.

You will find a lot of great support and ideas here -- there are many brides that had similar budgets and had beautiful weddings... you will need to prioritize for sure,a nd keep tight control of the guest list... that will add up so quickly.

we also had 50 guests and ended up around $27,000 (not including our wedding clothes and rings etc etc).

Zoeann look into rental homes. Also look up river walk weddings on FB. They have multiple locations etc.

Op I have a $3500 budget for 45 and were doing ceremony at historic landmark and reception at a restaurant just down the street. Food and alcohol are about $1500, ceremony and officiant about $600 total. Gives me $1400 for rest.

I did like cheetah did, we had our reception in a restaurant. They had a special private party room at my hubbies favorite place so we took it. They had a beautiful stone fireplace and everything. We had a 50 person guest list so it worked out.

We came in under $5000. It can be done.

We made our own centerpieces and decorations, our photographer was just starting up her business so we got an amazing deal and just so you know, she did an amazing job. We did cupcakes and it was way cheaper than doing a big tier cake. Go for $99 dress deals at davids bridal to save money.

    Good luck.

You can do invitations pretty cheaply online, yourself, even through local printers.

Have you started looking at dresses yet?

We are making our own invitations. I'll also be looking into DIYing the bouquets and bouts by buying flowers from Costco. We'll be saving with no DJ by putting all of our music on our iPod and having the coordinator handle that. Everything else that we would have DIY'd is being handled by our venue, which is a big relief.

I have looked on FB. We will be getting married at Rita's on the Riverwalk on their balcony overlooking the city and river walk.

BUT we would DIY everything but like I said the venue pretty much covers everything. I have to pull out my crafty side and try to make my bouquets.

Yes lol the ceremony and dancing will be outside but it will be at night, it's typically cooler down there at night. Dinner and cake will be inside of course.
