How do I plan a ceremony without any bridesmaids or groomsmen?

The same way you plan any other ceremony, just skip the bridesmaids and groomsmen. They’re not a necessity.

Not much will change, you will just have a shorter processional (just parents & bride) and recessional. The bride will hold her bouquet the whole time or hand it to someone sitting in the first row. The groom will have to have the rings, or the officiant. During the reception, there won't be a best man/maid of honor speech and the only introduction will be the bride & groom.

We didn't have a wedding party. Because my hubby's parents are deceased, I had my parents (divorced) just seat themselves along with the other guests (they sat front row on my side). My hubby & I decided to walk the aisle together which was great because more pics of us and we were so nervous! But you can still do the parent walk down the aisle, walk by yourself to your partner, etc. It's any way you wish and works for the venue.

    Hi there Maggie!

Welcome to the WeddingWire community Smiley smile

As the previous posters advised, not a whole lot will change with the ceremony if you don't have bridesmaids or groomsmen as part of the wedding.

Is there something in particular your worried or curious about?

Hi, thanks for replying. I am just worried about who will greet guests and who will hand over the rings, etc. Just small things.

Just plan as you normally would. Originally I was going to have my sisters as BM's but now we're doing something very different so I think I just want a flower girl and no other wedding party.

The bridal party normally doesn't greet guests unless you have ushers. Most weddings don't even have ushers anymore (at least around here) and people just seat themselves (people usually put a reserved sign on the front rows for immediate family). The officiant can have the rings, or the groom can have both of them in his pocket if you want. You can hold your bouquet, have a little stand with a vase you can put it in, or hand it to an honored guest in the front row.
