Small Bridal Party??

Jessica, on August 9, 2017 at 3:41 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 30

My FH and I are discussing our bridal party and our close friends that we were considering are going to be on the other side of the world so most likely won't make it (we're all military so planning really far in advance is basically a joke). I suggested just having our siblings as the bridal party. So it would be my sister, my brother, and his brother. FH gave me a weird look and said 3 people might be too small. What do you guys think? Our wedding is going to have around 60-80 guests.

I think 3 is great! There is no perfect number. The fewer the better, IMO

There's really no rule on how many people have to be in your BP. I'm more than likely just having a MOH since there are no other ladies I'm that close to.

That's fine. you do you. if you have 3 people you have 3 people there's nothing wrong with that.

There's no correct number, just choose the people you're closest to!

I don't think there's any such thing as too small of a bridal party. Sometimes less is more.

I have no bridal party at all, and I've seen people have just a MOH and BM, so there's really not a bridal party that's "too small".

I just had a MOH and H just had a BM. Best decision ever. No drama and less expensive.

I'm not having a BP either. Only about 25 people invited to the wedding and my son is walking me down the aisle. You have to go with what makes you most comfortable.

I'm having just my 2 sisters while FH will have 3-4 groomsmen. It really doesn't matter! Our guest list is 180.

W are having only a MOH and BM. I expect 30-40 people, I don't think it is too small, you don't want to ask people that are not that close/important to you just to fill in the blanks.

My H and I had 3 people each at our wedding with 54 guests.

    It was perfect!

We are having 45ish guests. My sister is my MOH and entire bridal party. FH's Sister is his BM. So....1 person each. It has been easy and awesome. Zero regrets.

It's better to be on the small side than to have 20 people standing up there with you -- with three people will just think that you wanted to keep things intimate.

We only have three. I had some girlfriends get upset I did not ask them to be bridesmaid but I picked the only two that I truly would need at my wedding and I've never regretted my choice. Also dealing with such a small number is nice! Super easy to get people to agree on things and less drama (I'm guessing )

We have 3 each. It would have been 2, but I decided to include his 13 year old sister as a jr bridesmaid.

I had two bridesmaids, and there was a groomsman and a bestman. I've been a bridesmaid twice each time it was just me and the best man. The smaller the party the easier it is!! ETA: our wedding had 142, the two that I was Bridesmaid at were 90 and 155.
