Slim Down Team Work!

Any brides who want to team up and help each other slim down for their gown with me? I don't have social media, there aren't a lot of gym classes near me and I'm having trouble staying motivated on my own to lose the last 30 pounds before my December wedding!

I’ve been trying to lose weight for my wedding for a year. I gained 50 lbs (putting me at 210) from a medication i was on. Despite being off it for two years the weight hasn’t come off. I’ve tried phentermine, diets, working out. My doctor said the only option now is a surgery to take out part of my stomach WHICH I DON’T WANT. Had anyone struggled this hard and found a solution?

Lol exactly and ok. I will probably have time to do some investigating Friday, tomorrow is looking busy. How are you doing on your workouts?

My sleeping 😴 is getting in the way. I need lots of sleep because of medication I’m on and so I’ve been sleeping in at the moment. I set my alarm every day though and try to get up. I’ll keep working on it 😊

You can do this. I understand though! With my work schedule its hard to get alot of decent sleep at "night". My alarm goes off at 1:45am to get to work on time. Depending on how much sleep I got and how tired I am I take a 1 to 2 hour nap after work. I set an alarm but sometimes I hit snooze lol.

My medication makes me sleep and I think holds the weight on too. The only thing that helped me was a program called portion perfection which is an eating plan. I can understand why you don't want to cut out your stomach as I don't want to either. All I can do is just tell myself that my husband loves me no matter what size I am Smiley smile If you want to look up the portion perfection and like the look of it I can send you some recipes if you like. I know this probably doesn't help much - loosing weight is no fun Smiley sad

Lol I never saw myself working this kind of shift but my fiance works 3rd shift so he works 630pm to 530 am, this was the shift that matched his the best, this way we at least get to see each other for about 2 to 3 hours a day during the week and all day on weekends. My other option at my job and stay full time would be working 2pm to 11pm and working weekends which means the only times we would be home at the same time would be when one of is asleep. Ive had jobs with worse schedules Smiley tongue I had an agricultural job where I would work until midnight/1am then go home shower and eat then sleep maybe 2 hours and be back at 5am or early for days in a row.

I just can't even fathom working those kind of hours at all. It so wouldn't work for me but I am glad it works for you and you still get to see your man often Smiley smile.

I have figured out particularly since living with FH that I can get by on much less sleep than most people......He doesnt handle little to no sleep well at all my family doesnt either. During the week I average 4 hours of sleep and 6 to 8 on weekends. 🤷‍♀️ The weather is finally cooling down here so at least Im sleeping better I cant sleep when its hot.

I couldn't even handle that much of sleep - I would just collapse I think Smiley smile. I'm impressed that you can get by on so little sleep. Smiley smile The weather here in Australia is heating up Smiley smile

We are at the tail end of fall so highs in the 50s and 60s (F) and lows in the 40s starting to hit 30s. Had to bring my indoor/tropical plants in this week so they wont die.

    Hey Sam,

Do you use any fitness watch to track steps, calories?

I feel like that holds me accountable.

We hit 90s and sometimes even 100 in the summer here, sadly our house isnt air conditioned. We have a window unit for the master bedroom and thats it. So we use fans, keep windows open, spend time in the basement where it doesnt get as hot. 🙂

I don't know how you get by with no air-con for your house when you get such hot temperatures Smiley smile. I'm guessing you aren't getting married in summer then? Smiley smile

I guess you get used to, doesnt make it more comfortable, just the way it is. No I am not, I am getting married in September, end of September, so for us thats early fall. We can get temperatures ranging anywhere from highs in the 50s to highs in the 80s occasionally 90s just depends on the year. Usually its dry but its the beginning of rainy season so rain is possible. However everything is inside for us and the venue has air conditioning and heat so we should be good. Both my sisters had outdoor ceremonies and the first one had great temperatures but we were racing a pretty serious storm coming in (should have been cold and gray with our normal weather for that time of the year) and the second one it was sunny but 40 degrees with 20 mile per hour winds, we all froze (should have been warm and sunny). I decided I didnt want to chance weather so found someplace for an indoor ceremony.
