Skipping the guest book...

Did anyone skip a guest book (or item to sign, wishing tree, wishing well, etc. etc.)? FH and I were trying to come up with something other than a book when he asked me if we even need anything like that at all. So, did anyone skip it and regret it? Or have something to sign and wish you hadn't?

We did three big bottles of wine. The thought of having to keep a book with people's drunk signatures and notes in it, somewhere in our little townhome, stressed me out...since I hate clutter. With wine, we'll drink it on our anniversaries and try to figure out who wrote on the bottles while we're drunk instead.

We're doing a wooden monogram. Everyone will sign it and then we'll hang it up at home.

I want to do a guestbook tree where our guests' fingerprints will be leaves (no signatures). A friend of mine did this at their wedding and now it is hanging in there house, it is beautiful. (Something like the picture). We are also having a photo booth and one of the photo strips will go into a scrapbook and guests can write little messages with their pictures.

I did wedding "mad libs". Not everyone filled them out, but we have quite a few I will eventually, one day, hopefully, get around to putting into an album. But no, no formal book and not everyone filled one out. I dont regret that. Its just a list of names and I will not know them all forever.

We have a guest bench that DH built and people signed it. It sits in our front hall and will be useful in any home we have. I love it and look at it everyday. Even love the little kids who wrote on it.
