Six weeks out and I made the day of timeline

Gamecock Mrs., on August 22, 2014 at 4:02 PM Posted in Planning 0 25

Just a first draft, but can y'all tell that I don't want to be doing any work right now. Yep, detailed timeline of getting ready, who has hair/makeup when, and reception timeline. My HMUA told me that she's pretty fast, so I have probably allotted too much time, but I would rather be over than under.

Also, I went ahead and set up my out of office reply for the dates I will be gone. And totally included "I will be gone for these dates to celebrate my wedding."

I left the house late today, so I got to check the mail before I left. 5 days left (one being a Sunday) and still waiting on 72 responses. (About 40 or so cards).

I really hope that I can convince FH to learn the basic steps of our first dance this weekend (shag - a carolinas dance). I have a general idea, but he is going to need a lot of work.

Wheeeeee! My mom told me that I am a control freak. Maybe I am. As Barbara said, I will join the Funk dat club.

6 weeks! That sounds like such a little amount of time! So exciting!

I love that you included "to celebrate my wedding" on your out of office reply. I am totally going to do that for mine too. Totally not ashamed.

Totally don't think you are a control freak. You just want to be prepared. Either way, funk dat!

    Happy Friday! Enjoy your weekend!

I sent my department out an email this week that said I was going to start working on my end of the year stuff now because I may be a little less level headed by October and I wanted to get started now while I was thinking clearly. LOL

I need to see one of these timelines please. I like the idea of telling my FH and son when they are allowed to pee. LOL

I think it's fine to start now and then you can fine-tune the timeline later. I always pack early when I'm leaving, even just for a weekend. The time I only packed one day early, I forgot things. I didn't forget things when I packed early! So I think that's totally fine.

I'm 5 weeks away (OMG I did not know that until I just calculated it for this comment. 37 days sounds like so much longer!) and I made my weekend and day of timeline this week. I feel SO much better now that I have it done! I'm going to email it out to everyone as soon as I finalize all the 'jobs' I have for people to do. And I barely do any work these days. It's such a joke. I wish I had this whole month off!

We have a meeting with my entire research center the week before the wedding. I really, REALLY want to tell them all "look, if you feel like sending me an email during my honeymoon, dont. Make a nice folder in your email system called 'to send to Barbara after 9/25', and put it in there until 9/25. If you feel like I should be copied on an email, don't. Just put that shit in the folder."

BAHAHA!! Smiley smile PS-- Please tell your mother you are smart to get the timeline done now. Ours is done in theory, but three weeks out, and I am still waiting for shitty venue confirmation that the reception timeline (i.e., time dinner can be served, cake cutting) is okay for them. This does not only mean I have ONE MORE THING to worry about, but that I can't pass this info along to the photog, videographer, DJ, etc. AHHHHH

That's great - is it something you wouldn't mind sharing?

And oh crap! You said you had 6 weeks and I thought how is that when I have 5 weeks. Uh, no I don't, I have 4 weeks!

I am Vanessa. My sister and one other BM (and the HMUA) are all named Katie, so that's why I went with the elementary last initial.

So what if you are being a control freak. if there's any time in your life should have the right to be, it's when you are a bride Smiley smile

I am always a control freak. Being a bride has simply intensified it.

Great job on the timeline! I'm hoping I can convince my FH to learn our first dance steps this weekend too. We only have 1 week left - yikes!

I am very anal about being ON TIME. There wasn't a chance my wedding would start late. I had a timeline too and stuck to it pretty exactly! It was also really hot the day of my wedding (90 degrees in OCTOBER. We chose October so it wouldn't be 90!) so I didn't want everyone sitting outside dying. Timelines are great!!
