Singing yourself down the aisle?

Danielle, on February 17, 2014 at 8:58 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 33

Just saw this gem and had to share, LOL. I can't bring myself to watch the entire thing.

I think this was posted before. Personally? I'm not crazy about it. Weddings are emotionally overpowering in any case, and adding this to it so much pressure for each of the couple. I also thought it was awkward for the guests.

I know why the officiant tried to get out of the frame......

Oh haha this is the first time I've seen it! I would totally be uncomfortable as a guest. Or the groom. Or the bride!!

As a guest, I'd be wondering if I was supposed to applaud at the end of the song. It just felt odd -- kind of like a play or something....

I actually thought it was very sweet, i actually teared up, watching the groom cry. i wouldnt do it myself since my singing voice sounds like a sick cat trying to yowl a mating call, but its still very sweet.

No way. I'll be nervous enough on my wedding day. I can sing, and enjoy it, but I'm not comfortable singing in front of other people anyway. The whole thing just seems weird to me.

I watched one mintue of it and then I was uncomfortable. If you want to sing your husband a song, why not do it at the reception?

The look on one of the GM's face was pricesless. He was like "What in the world is happening?" Eyebrows furrowed and everything.

Reception. Its too much. I guess shes used to singing, but it seemed self serving. Why not sing to him in bed? Or the next morning? Or when youre between ceremony and reception ??

Totally awkward. In addition (and I promise promise this is NOTHING against you Danielle, because I know you are a slightly younger bride, and I promise, I have absolutely nothing against younger brides), but that groom looked like he was like 8 years old. Like, is he eligible for marriage? That was my main concern.... Smiley winking

Yea, it just went on for so long. Reception would have been a great time for a song, but walking down the aisle, agreed, just awkward.

Hahaha thanks for that disclaimer, Future Mrs D! Smiley winking you're totally right, he looks like he needed parental approval for his marriage! And it does seem completely self serving, that so did not have to last as long as it did haha.

So gimmicky. I don't know why this is any "extra" moving than the groom just seeing the bride walk down the aisle. . . if we all need to sing to make our grooms tear up out of love and joy, then I'm in trouble!
