Simple/Whole Foods wedding cake

Cincin, on September 18, 2015 at 3:51 PM Posted in Planning 0 16

Hello ladies!

Have any of you used a Whole Foods cake for your wedding? I am dead set on having a chantilly cake (if you haven't had it, RUN there now). The one I called doesn't tier cakes. So I was thinking about buying different sized cake stands.

What has your experience been? DO you have pictures? I am not doing anything fancy, my wedding is simple and easy so I don't care it can't be tiered and don't want extravagant decoration on it.

Just wondering what your experience is or what your simple wedding cakes look like :-)

I think it's really about how you dress them up if you don't have a tiered cake. I have a few photos to share that I think are darling!

I had a friend who used Publix for her DW cakes, and her mom and guests gushed about them. The bride collected really old school cake toppers on ebay and cool cake stands from vintage stores, and her cake table pictures were adorable! I think as long as the cake is good nobody will comment that you didn't have the "standard" tiered wedding cake.

I think @Whitney is spot on when it comes to having different sizes and cake stands.

I'm glad you like it! I had a custom cake topper made on Etsy for a really fair price. You can also find some amazing things at Goodwills. I found some beautiful cake stands there that were originally from Target and we're $3.00 a piece. I bought them for my best friends bridal shower cakes. She kept one and I kept the other afterwards! Oooh I hope you do a big bam when the wedding is over so we can see the final result! Best of luck!

I loooove the tiered cake stand look! I think it's different and whimsical. Check out etsy if you can afford it, WW bride to bride on Facebook, or just local thrift shops.

I haven't but I Loooove the look of the ones Whitney posted. So darling. As we are having a dessert bar, we'll have one small cake under a glass jar, something super simple.

Etsy cake stands are SOOOOO expensive! FH is out of town all weekend so I will have time to shop around at thrift stores and different stores. You too Whitney! Your big day is almost here!! I'm so excited and nervous (16 days away!) for the wedding. I'm not a big look at me kind of person, or like the spotlight on me at all so it will be interesting!

Both my daughter and I did cakes on different cake stands for our wedding, and they worked out well. Obviously, a Whole Foods cake won't look as fancy as a formal wedding cake. But your guests are likely to care about the taste more than the looks.

2d Bride ®, right! :-) Whole foods will do simple decorations, mostly like the ones whitney posted above which is great for my style. The chantilly usually has lots of fruit for decoration which is nice for a fall wedding (harvest?) so that will be part of my decor. Sort of like this but I want a lot more fruit!
