Silicone Wedding Bands?

Sydney, on September 8, 2016 at 12:19 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 15

My FH and I both work in a medical profession, and therefore would like to have flat bands because we would otherwise not really be able to wear them to work. Recently I've come across these silicone wedding band that have really interested me. We are both very opposed to the 2 month salary rule for rings. We would both like them in black, so they would match. Whats your opinion? Yay or nay

I have an ENSO silicon ring for working out in and wearing around the house.

He has a .99 cent silicon ring from eBay that he wears while working in the shop, doing outdoor activities and whatnot.

    I say go for it!

We also have traditional rings as well :3

I think they're a great idea. Me and FH will both have our actual rings, but we will have silicone bands due to job restrictions. You can also go without rings at work and put the rings back on afterward, but if you don't want to do that the silicone bands are a great idea Smiley smile Less expensive to replace as well, haha.

I just ordered one for my DH. He works construction and could get zapped if he wears his real one while working with electrical. I think they're a great idea also!

FH is a body builder and "knows he'll lose a metal ring" if he gets one.

Researched the QALO rings (I'm an RN, so I'll have it for work & weightlifting) and we can't wait for ours to come in the mail!!

I saw an ad on Facebook for QALO rings and told my BIL about them since he works with his hands a lot. He bought one and he LOVES it! He now wears that ring to work and his original metal ring only to church/special occasions.

We are getting some for the gym or other times we wouldn't want to wear our real rings. Heads up- I've heard from a lot of people Qalo runs a little snug and to get a half size or even a full size larger than you would normally. I'm not sure about Enso on sizing.

There's a 2 month salary rule for wedding bands? I've never heard of that...

Those would be some dang expensive wedding bands.

FH and I are also getting QALO silicone bands. He's a water maintenance well and small oil well Driller; so wearing excess metal is just begging for trouble. Ill have mine for when we are outdoors (free basing, fishing etc). This way our metal bands aren't getting banged up or getting one of us killed.

My husband has 2 different metal rings and i bought him a QALO and he never takes it off! He's and ironworker so for work it's not ideal to wear a metal band and he said he felt so restricted and didn't like the feeling of wearing it he's not a jewelry person... I highly recommend the QALO bands! He has 2 and tells everyone about how great they are lol Only $18!

FH and I are both nurses. The silicone rings are great because they're washable, and you can stretch them a bit to wash under the ring, but you have to be careful too dry very carefully because they're Non permeable and can cause irritation and cracking of the webbing

they suction to wet finger and if they aren't well fitted they can roll off with gloves I've had better luck with a thin 2mm simple well fitted band with no adornments that I can wash but doesn't adhere to wet skin

    hope that helps

I have a QALO ring I wear to work and love it. I'm a nurse. I suggest getting a size a little bigger so it's not tight and can't hold moisture/dirt under it.

I have tried women's silicone bands from both Qalo, and Enso. I personally prefer the Enso stackables. They are nice and thin (width) and I find them to be more comfortable. They have a few other styles of women's rings as well, if you wanted something a bit wider. They also offer a life time warranty on their rings, which is neat.

I would definitely recommend trying an Enso ring.
