Side wedding do/hair piece/veil questions

Nisa, on November 6, 2018 at 1:01 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 12
Hi all! I was originally going to do a Meghan Markle kind of updo, but my fiance mentioned that he loves my hair to the side and I agree! So a few questions:

1. Does a side do work with my dress? Note: I will be using clip ins.
2. Does a cute hairpiece still work, and if so, any recommendations? I'd like to have both a hairpiece and veil but I'm not sure how they work together.
3. What veil length would you recommend? I am leaning towards chapel length, because I don't have a train and I think it would be a nice dramatic contrast to my simple dress.

I'm always team chapel-or-longer veils! I think the side-do works. I glued my hairpiece to my veil and then once the veil is off, I have a headband thing I'll be using.

(also please excuse the messy room, I know that no one cares but I don't have any great photos of me in my dress)

You could do a hair comb & veil. For the reception you could take the veil out & leave the comb in.

Phew! I'm on the short side so I'd be concerned wearing anything shorter!
Did you just use hot glue?

Etsy has a ton of gorgeous ones & all sizes. Most of the ones I've found have been decently priced as well.

Yep! This is my comb glued on my veil in the first pic, second pic is close up of the comb and the headband I'll switch to. Both were on Amazon for under $15!

    Hi Annisa! Smiley heart

Yes, a side hair-do works with your dress! It's absolutely beautiful. You can do some kindof pin or comb in the back of your hair with a veil attached! And as for a veil, I agree, chapel length would be lovely! Smiley heart

Have you found a hair stylist for the big day yet? Perhaps he/she might have some good recommendations or ideas for how to incorporate the side-swept look you're going for with a hairpiece & veil!

Thank you!! My dress has champagneish colored beading (though photographs more silverish- it's a weird flippin dress). I couldn't find any affordable champagne colored jewelry, and silver didn't match at all, and I can't stand yellow-gold, so I met in the middle with rose gold lol

So, I am of the thought that the veil should be a bit longer than your dress -- you definitely need a simple veil though cause your dress is detailed enough that you don't want to take attention away from it. As for hair, how long will extensions be? You can still put a clip in just have your stylist be mindful of the addition. I had a veil and head piece and once the veil was on over the head piece it all tangled together (there are pictures of my hair slowly falling apart).
