Sick before wedding day update

Alyssa, on May 21, 2019 at 2:18 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 5
I just wanted to thank all of you that gave me your best remedies for colds! I’ll give a run down of what I have then i’ll give my update!

Thursday morning woke up with small tickle in throat and progressed into Saturday horribly which made me concerned that I had Strep (I get it just about once a year and haven’t had it in a while now) so I started treating it as that, like I have in the past. The sore throat worked it’s way out, only slight discomfort now due to deep chest coughs from mucus. Now it’s all in my sinus region. I have taken/used Advil, Tylenol, EmergenC, Gatorade, water, coming water, Zink, DayQuil, NyQuil, allergy meds, black elderberry syrup and pills, Vic’s on my feet, hot shower, hot bath with epsom salt and today I only feel worse after be consistent since Saturday doing ALL OF THESE. I finally got accept to come in for a doctors appointment after calling and begging I be seen ASAP so my appointment is in a few hours so hopefully they can give me something to kick this to the curb!

Good luck! I'm sure they will, especially for strep. In the future, I'd see if there are "minute clinics" in your area that will do strep tests. Those are really great for me at least, I used to get strep once a year (not anymore) so I didn't have to wait in lines and they still took insurance.

Sadly the closest one that use to take my insurance closed down, only came to find that out after driving an hour to get there and be told they didn’t have one anymore. My insurance kind of sucks so finding walk in clinics that take Kaiser is a really tough issue they need to work on

Good lucky! Hopefully you'll get a Z Pack and it'll kick this thing out of your body! I have a tendency to get sinus infections and those always work for me.

If it's a respiratory infection (bacterial), you'll probably need some antibiotics to kill it, and would explain why you're not any better, even with all the things you've tried. But a doctor can get you that ASAP, and you should be good as new in a few days. Good luck!
