Siblings & Wedding Involvement

Lisa, on September 28, 2020 at 9:31 PM Posted in Family and Relationships 0 46
Did you involve your siblings in your wedding? If so, did you include all of them, or just the one(s) you are close to? Are they in your wedding party? Or did you give them another task (such as a ceremony reading or escorting a family member down the aisle)?

My fiance and I are including some, but not all, of our siblings. My sister is my MOH, and my brother and brother-in-law are both ushers. My fiance decided to not include his siblings in our wedding at all.

Both of my siblings were included and two of my husband's three siblings were included in our bridal party. My brother's wife was also included in our bridal party. My brother was my bride's man, my sister was my maid of honor, and my brother's wife and my husband's sister were bridesmaids. My husband's younger brother was a groomsman. My husband's older brother wasn't included in the bridal party, but his four children were. His two daughters were our flower girls. His younger son was our ring bearer and his older son walked down the aisle with the ring bearer and escorted my mother-in-law into our reception during our grand entrance. He was supposed to also hand out programs, but our venue messed up and put the programs on everyone's chairs. My husband didn't even realize until I told him that his older brother was the only one not included. My husband had other people he was closer to which is why his older brother wasn't included in our bridal party.

Our brothers will be the ones escorting our moms in, but that’s really about it. His sister is several states away and hasn’t given us any indication that she’s coming.

My fiancé doesn’t have any siblings and I 3. My sister is my Matron of Honor and my two brothers will escort our mom down the aisle. We only have one person standing next to us and I wanted to include them someway.

My sister is my MOH. Her fiancé is our Zoom host. My brother is giving me away, my SIL is helping me with their three girls/my flower girls. FHs teenaged daughters are my 2 Bridesmaids. His 2 brothers are groomsmen (his Dad is the best man). We are keeping the bridal party mostly family...but we are having a smaller wedding...so the smaller bridal party size makes sense

Family is super important for us so our whole family is involved because we wanted them to feel special and included. Plus they’re the people we love most so makes sense to have them with us. My sister is my MOH and his sister is a bridesmaid. My brother is a groomsman. We’re having my aunt and uncle and his aunt and uncle plus my grandparents and his grandparents walk in as well.

My sister was a bridesmaid, my brother read the prayers. His sister did a reading - we wanted to include all our siblings in one way or another.

I have a lot of siblings (full, half & step) & there’s no way we could or want to include them all. My sister is my MOH (I’m extremely close to her), my daughter & a close friend are bridesmaids. Other siblings are invited but not part of the wedding party.

His sister was his groomswoman. He really wanted that, and then she.. .well.

Let's just say even MIL was annoyed at her behavior.

My sister is my MOH. None of my brothers are in the wedding party but I do plan to ask 2 of them to be ushers. As for my fiance both of his brothers are his groomsmen and 2 of his sisters are my bridesmaids. His youngest sister isn't a part of the wedding.

My little sister is my bridesmaid and my FW's little sisters are her bridesmaids. Then I have 2 older sisters, but we are not close at all and they are not involved at all.

We didn’t have a bridal party but my brother was our witness for marriage license signing - only sibling involvement.

FH has 5 siblings 3 on moms side & 2 on dads side, the 2 on dads side are not included because he says he wasn’t comfortable with them being in the wedding. I have 4 siblings and 2 of my brothers are his groomsmen and my other brother & sister aren’t involved because I don’t talk to them.

We’re not including them. He has only met one of my three, and I wasn’t in any of their weddings. He has three sisters, and we aren’t close. There’s no reason for us to include any of them.
