Shower Invitations vs. Wedding Invitations

The shower hosts, not the bride, send shower invitations 4-6 weeks before the shower, mid April to May 1. Your wedding invitations should be sent to arrive at people's homes 6-8 weeks before your September Wedding, so in July.

As Judith said, the bride should not be sending the bridal shower invites, as she should not be the one hosting her own shower. Since the events are so far apart, there will most likely be no overlap. The shower invites should be sent first.

Nope, shower invites usually go out before wedding. Like PP said, the shower invites should have been sent out weeks ago. My shower is June 2nd and the rsvp by date was a few days ago on the 18th

The invites for this particular shower is an announcement in the church bulletin. There’s just been a fiasco with my MIL wanting invitations sent to her whole family to come to this church shower even though this shower is supposed to be church family only.

Our wedding is July 20, my shower was May 18. My mom sent shower invites out April 20. Our invites went out April 15. So right around the same time, but everyone got their wedding invites first.

As PP have said, shower invites usually go out first. My shower is August 10th so my FMIL who is putting it all together with help from my bridesmaids and step mom said she will be sending invites out the end of June or early July. Then my wedding invites will be going out mid July for a Sept 28th wedding. So shower invites go out just a little earlier than wedding invites. In your case shower invites will go out a couple months earlier than wedding invites but that's ok!
