I loved having my wedding small. I wondered if I was going to regret it from time to time. When I walked down the aisle (slowly as possible) I remember looking at the beautiful window in that beautiful chapel and remembered thinking that it really wouldn't matter if there were 1000 people in there, that 'it just doesn't get better than this'. I felt like incredible like never before.

We were to have a bigger wedding in my hometown and for many reasons I just ripped up the plans one day, threw them out and started over. Thinking 'forget what I should want what do I really want?' I booked this beautiful chapel in a big stone church that offered it for a hourly time frame and the rest was history. After that I just followed my heart.

I loved it being so relaxed, was able to chat with guests tell stories I'd been told from my mom's wedding, vs a DJ speaking to a room of 100+ people.

Though I changed the size and location of my wedding, I didn't give up certain dreams. Such as a 4 tier wedding cake, and a ball gown with a huge veil. My Bouquet was so big I could hardly hold it with one hand. I could not get enough of that thing, I didn't put it down all night. If it hadn't had thorns I would have slept with it! With most everything I went with less is more. Such as floating candles on the table vs lots of flowers. When it came to the cake and what I wore, I went with more. I have friends that had regrets that they wished things like the cake or veil could have been bigger, but felt they couldn't because their wedding was small. There's no wedding police that will come arrest you if the cake is too big, or if the dress is 'too fancy' for a small wedding. 10 people or 1000 people you have the right to have the dreams you want for your wedding day
