Another option is BHLDN. Their dresses are very reasonably priced and they have stores across the country, plus you can order online and return it if you don’t like the dress.

I had an amzing experience. Especially as a plus size bride. I had the attention and advice of my consultant and other consultants standing nearby. Even other customers in the store gave compliments and feedback. Then i had a SYTTD moment when i decide to get the dress and they rung a bell and the whole store celebrated. Plus i got my dress on sale for $489 with tax. I will be having it altered locally and glammed up with some add ons.

Stock photos of the front back of my dress. I had an amazing experience. I got my veil, sash, tiara, and dress from them. My alterations appointment is set for June. I would advise to wait for their $99 sale for great deals. Everything I bought was on sale.

This is the stock photo of my dress. It's simple and totally me. I went with my mother, FMIL, and had my sister on Skype. My girl was really good about listening to what I thought I wanted and bringing me dresses that fit the bill, and some that didn't just so I was sure. She did step away for a few minutes which whatever, it was a Saturday afternoon, but the manager stepped right in and took over. On her own, I may add. I didn't say a word to anyone. It was a positive experience. I think the dress was about $400.

Based on reviews here I'm not getting my dress altered there though. There is a wonderful seamstress around the corner from our house that I will be going to.

Here's mine. It was under $500. I also got my chapel length veil (not the one pictured) there for$65. My experience at the store in Tampa was good. I'm not doing my alterations there though.

So I ended up buying this one at DB -- it's the Vera Wang White VW351395 -- and granted one of the most expensive dresses at the store at $1498 original price ( 1598 if you needed extra length).

Anyhow, this arrived at my house today in the petite size (I'm only 5'2 on a good day) after I had ordered thanksgiving weekend '17. I actually just finished trying it on at home, got super lucky and it fits amazingly, I don't need any alterations (holy crap!)!!! So now just the bustle left to figure out/find a good tailor for if I can't figure it out myself.

I paid just under 1250 for the dress at one of DB's no-exclusions-%off-sale (it was either Cyber Monday or Thanksgiving day's sale, I think), and that includes MD sales tax since I got it while visiting my folks (and bridesmaids from around the country also in town for the holiday). The pic below is from my first try on of the dress, which was not in petite.

I bought my dress from David's Bridal. It was normally $800-$900 but got it for $500. No wait. It was off the rack. I did not envision myself in strapless but I tried on two other dresses and when my mom cried at this one, that was it. Forgive me, this is a stock photo. My MOH took a pic of me but she hasn't sent it to me lol.
As the other ladies said they try to sell you everything. I got my veil online from offer up. There are tons of cheaper accessories out there cheaper than David's Bridal. Shop around.

Update. As I said earlier I had an appointment today and I ended up saying yes to the dress! And I cried..which I totally didn't want to do lol. Exactly what I was looking for and only $449. Romantic & whimsical is what I was envisioning.
I am very short so I will be getting it altered lol

Stunning dress and such a bargain!

I'm a 22W in DB sizing. The third pic is the first dress I was going to wear it was about $200. Then we changed venues and didn't match the formality. The first two pics are the dress I'll be wearing (with different shoes). My dress was right around $500.

First photo is me and the second is just the stock off the website. It's so much more beautiful in person and I knew it was the one before I even put it on. It's from the Melissa Sweet collection and cost about $1300 but they have dresses much cheaper than that that are so gorgeous, plus they frequently have sales.

I haven't done alterations yet, but I'm planning to get them through a privately owned local company. Generally you get get a better price for the work for equal or superior quality.

As far as my experience, it was as stress-free as possible for someone with an anxiety disorder . My consultant was very helpful and could piece together my desires for a dress into a clear vision, although I ended up buying a dress that wasn't what I thought I wanted. It depends on personal preference, but I went with just my mom and it made things less stressful than if I had a group of friends.

im getting it altered outside DB because DB is not quick or cheap. im going to get push up cups sewn in too

I’d suggest trying bridal outlets and sample sales. While there is nothing wrong with David’s bridal, there are some gems out there and you may get lucky if you start looking early enough. If you’re able to make a trip to Boston, there’s a great outlet called Vows & they have a huge selection of dresses, high end dresses at that, for up to 80% off of the original price.
