Should I Say Yes to the Perfect (Two Sizes Too Small) Dress??????

Since the day my FH proposed, I've dreaded going shopping for a wedding gown and planned to go sometime in Oct/Nov. But since so many people insist that I go early, I went yesterday. I dreadfully went in for my appointment, and after trying on 10 gowns that I absolutely despised, I finally tried on THE ONE. It's true...you know the dress when you put it on. It had EVERYTHING that I'd ever imagined. The only problem was that it was two sizes too small. No problem...just order it in the right size, right? Well, my consultant told me that since it is discontinued, it can't be ordered and must be purchased as a floor item. Annnnd it would be 50% off original price!!! I decided to go home to think about it. Today is the next day...I can't get that dress out of my mind!! My sister is adamant that I shouldn't buy a dress that is two sizes too small, but we still have 7 months and I'm absolutely adamant that I'll be able to get into the dress no matter what. What do you think??

You've only been dress shopping once, at one store. That is not your dress. You will find your dress. That is to risky to buy something that doesn't fit. If you don't lose the weight then that's more money going toward alterations to let the dress out.

Your wedding is 7 months away. Are you sure you want to pressure yourself to lose 15-20 pounds with wedding stress? I wouldnt try it. Find a dress similar to it. They are out there

A dress size is different (in lbs) for everyone. It depends on your height and body type. That's also something to consider.
A full dress size for me is about 8 lbs. So two dress sizes is about 16 lbs, which isn't an absurd amount to lose in 7 months, but it's just an added pressure.

Keep looking- there is no dress so unique that you can't find a similar one. Wedding planning is stressful- it's not the easiest time to lose weight and with your date you'd not only have to lose the weight but keep it off which is a double challenge. I wouldn't risk it.

I would not recommend buying a gown two sizes small. I am not a seamstress, but all the advice I received during wedding planning says that it is easier to take-in dresses rather than let them out. You could try talking to seamstresses to see how much letting out will cost you. Also, if you have pictures of the dress you can contact other boutiques if they have something similar. You could even post it here! The WW community is very helpful and some one may be able to suggest reasonable alternatives.
