Should I invite the wedding singer to reception?

Ms2Mrs1029, on August 22, 2016 at 9:07 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 5

So my wedding singer is a coworker who happens to sing professionally. We're not friends or cool outside of work...I'm just hiring her to sing during the ceremony.

Should I also invite her to the reception or do singers that you aren't friends or family with just sing and leave? I mean, she's a cool person, but if she weren't singing for us then she wouldn't be invited (just like none of my other coworkers are invited). I just don't want to seem rude if I'm supposed to extend a reception invite to her as well....

I don't think you need to invite her to the reception

I invited my vendors to join us for dinner. I'll leave the option for them if they want to stay past that or not

We are inviting all of our vendors (officiant, photographer) to the reception. We're not sending them invites or anything, just asking in an email if they'd like to join us and here are the food options, etc. It's a courtesy that you should extend to any vendor who will be present during the ceremony.

No. She really is a vendor, not a friend.

Thanks ladies! I'm thinking I will not invite her then since I don't have to.
