Should I have a bridal shower if my wedding is private and in Las Vegas?

DanaMarie3262, on November 8, 2007 at 9:21 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 3

My fiance and I are getting married in Las Vegas next year. We are the only ones attending. (this is the way we want it) Is it still Ok to have a bridal shower when there's no "public" wedding to follow?

There is no reason why can't, people need to understand your reason for getting married i Vegas. But, If your going to have your mom or parents involved with the shower, then it almost seems most unfair for them not to be part of your wedding in Vegas. Thats my two cents!

Well, since hosting a wedding shower is not up to the bride, you don't need to decide! If your friends choose to honor you with a shower, why not?

It's considered very bad etiquette to invite people to your shower that you do not plan on inviting to your wedding. Still, if the shower is hosted by a friend or someone who is not a member of your family who can blame you for enjoying it? (people would look down on your relatives for doing it if there is no public ceremony)
