Honestly, the sun is way better for you than tanning beds. The rays in tanning beds are much more concentrated and go deeper into the tissue. Put on some coconut oil or sunflower oil, lay out in the sun, and start slow. Only go out for like 20 minutes the first day and then just work yourself into longer and longer. I'm pretty white and I tanned for like a week straight with sunflower oil at straight noon and never burned but got a very nice tan Smiley smile.

That being said, if you don't have time for noon tanning, there are some good spray tans out there. Maybe start now and try a few lotions and sprays and see what looks best on you. Just don't experiment the week before the wedding!

If you haven't tanned before I wouldn't tan for the wedding. You should look like you on your wedding, so if you're not normally tan it would be odd for you to be tan on your wedding~

And don't use oil in the sun! That doesn't give you any protection from the sun! Think of oil as a cancer magnet. You're better off using a low SPF and tanning gradually. I like Coppertone oil free SPF 15 or 30 (depending on time of year/location)

Coming from someone who owns a spray tanning business. If you are going to spray tan, make sure you do a trial run before. I require all of my brides to do a trial. Also, I would suggest doing something light or medium light. Nothing too drastic for your big day. Oh and I don't advise the spray tan booth. I would have an actual tech spray you. There are tons of great spray tan solutions out there but also some ones that I really don't care for. If you need any help with what brands of solutions to look for, just let me know and I can lead you in the right direction.

I think if you're already have a slight tan as it sounds to be the case you don't need to tan. Personally I am so pale and I look extremely washed out in photos with my light hair and skin so I am hitting the tanning booth before the wedding to get a little bit of color.

I am very against tanning beds for health reasons so I decided to experiment and go get a spray tan done and see how I like it. My wedding is not until september but I am going to get my spray tan done with in the next couple weeks, if I don't like the results I will just go natural for the wedding. I've heard if you do spray tanning to get the clear solution because that one does not stain clothing beyond the first 24 hours and lasts about a week.

Valerie you should make sure you schedule your spray tan 2 days before. You could get the clear but you can also get the solution with the cosmetic bronzer because if you do it two days out you will have had enough showers to where it won't get on your dress. The solution I use is called Natural Glow but Sjolie(pronounced sholie) is also good but the drying time is a lot longer than NG. Norvell is ok but definitely not my favorite. If you can't find any of these in your area, you should still give it shot if you plan on doing a trial. The main thing to remember with getting a spray tan is to not go too far from your natural skin tone. When you see someone with that awful orange look, it means they went way darker than they should have. From the sound of it, you would want to do a medium since you are not super pale or super dark.

If you are already kind of tane I wouldn't bother. Like Kimberly said- you want to look like you on your wedding.

Is there anywhere around you that does air brush? I have spray tanned before and I didn't like it, I always felt it was streaky/blotchy/orangey etc.- I have friends who swear by it, but I just don't like it.

That being said, I had an airbrush tan done for my MOH's wedding. It's the same kind of concept but it's an actual person (an "artist") who sprays you with whatever color you choose (or they recommend). It comes out much more natural looking and even. You can wear as little or as much as you want, but I love it and highly recommend it. I would search for "airbrush tanning" in your area and check into it!

There is nothing wrong with being "pale" for your wedding. I hate tanning. The sun is a cancer magnet for my skin. I don't have a problem being pale. I think if you normally aren't tan, don't tan for you wedding. You won't be "natural."
