Short wedding day timelines?

Lauren, on September 5, 2016 at 8:38 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 4

What's your wedding day timeline like? Our wedding is very short it's going to be our ceremony followed by a 3 HR reception of just eating and hanging out, no dancing or any games of any kind. At first I thought it was going to be awkward like I needed to entertain everyone but now I'm okay with it. Anyone else have a very simple day?

I suspect most of us are having game-free days - and as for the dancing, that's just providing a dance floor and music, nothing to put on the schedule there! You'd probably be surprised at how similar your short timeline is to others'. Most timelines are heaviest on getting ready and setting up details, the logistics of vendor arrivals, and moving people from place to place. Once the ceremony starts, the timeline gets pretty simple (they get married. Photos are taken. People eat. Some people talk.)

We will have plenty music and dancing. But making your own CDs eliminates the need for a DJ.

Mine is short and sweet. Starts with a 2pm ceremony, and ends at 5pm. It's basically ceremony, eat, socialize, cake, socialize the end. No one in my family dances or drinks except me and my brother, and only FMIL will be coming from FH's side, so I'm getting a few bottles of wine for the few of us that drink, and just having some homemade cds playing in the background.
