Money wasn't an issue for us, our families gave us no choice and forced us to accept that THEY were paying for the wedding. My fiance and I want to be a married couple, I want to carry his name, and start a family soon, no reason to wait in my mind. We have known each other for 16 years haha but dated as adults for a year plus living together. So excited!!!

Our official engagement is just under 9 months! FH proposed February 3, and our wedding is November 2. We started planning last November to get a head start on everyone getting engaged over Christmas & Valentine's Day, so the church, reception, and photographer were actually booked a month before our engagement. If you include the 3 months I was planning before the engagement, the unofficial engagement comes to about a year. Smiley xd

We knew we didn't want a long engagement. We've been together 5 years but aren't living together until after the wedding (religious reasons), and felt like we've already been waiting long enough. If we didn't get married this November, we would have had to wait until the spring! I'm so glad we're not waiting that long. Only 37 more days Smiley love

We will be engaged for 2 years before getting married. Originally, I thought I would need that long to get used to the idea of marriage, find a new job and move (we were long distance at the time), and plan the wedding. As it turns out, we really didn’t need that much time at all! Now I regret not setting it for this November instead of next. But, I guess it will allow us an entire year longer to save $ and really think through every detail.

    Congratulations!

We were engaged for 5 months before the wedding. We knew each other for 8 years prior to dating, dated for 9 months and got engaged. When you know you know. I have a 12 year old daughter and we decided not to live together before the wedding. We sat down with a calendar and picked the first 3 day weekend available which just so happened to be labor day weekend. (I am relatively new at my job and time off was a huge factor) So 5 months later I became a Mrs!!

We got engaged in May of this year and will be getting married in May 2021 which will be a 2 year engagement. We've been together for 8 years and feel as though we are married in our eyes. FH initially wanted to do it in 2020 but I didn't want to rush with the planning and we're also paying for everything; so budget is another factor. We could have done it but I refuse to be financially stressed. We will take our time, plan it the way we want according to our budget. We're not in a rush.

My engagement will be 868 days- so anything but short! FH works in sports marketing and has a crazy busy game schedule plus is going to grad school full time. I knew I'd be fighting with sports any year for my fall wedding, but I refused to work around sports AND his class schedule. Plus 11/07 has some meaning to us.

We’ve been engaged for a year, the wedding is 10 days away! Our families are paying for it also, and we already lived together also...so we said why not?! Lol

My Fiancé and I were both raised religious, I wouldn’t have moved in before marriage but he wasn’t my first long term relationship and I needed some clarity and comfort to live with the next man I might see my life with before getting married. It was a big decision but we learned so much and we made a plan. Within a year we would be engaged if not I was leaving, because if I was going to “play house” I wasn’t going to do it with just anyone.

Aww! That’s similar to my story!
We both don’t have any children though.
Known my Fiancé since childhood. We even kept in touch as casual childhood friends when I was in my previous long term relationship!
When his mom found out on fb. That I was engaged years before I even dated her son, she actually cried!! She always wanted me and her son to get together. Years later!! Many countries travelled and other experiences, we linked up and we basically knew right away😂

If money wasn't an issue we would have gotten married sooner! We wanted to have the wedding of our dreams but couldn't afford it on a short notice. Our anniversary also fell on a saturday in 2019, which was the date we wanted anyhow so it worked out but overall our engagement was 20 months.

Our engagement will be about 9 months which I consider short. I agree there’s no reason to wait as long as you have the money and can book the vendors that you want.

Engaged August first and we have an 8 month engagement (already almost down to 6 months 😍). We're getting married in April.

We would've liked a 6 month engagement or shorter, but FH is a police officer and it takes him forever to save up vacation time for the wedding & honeymoon. Originally we thought June for the wedding, but my family is moving over seas to Germany in the summer so I wanted the wedding to be before that so they didn't have to worry about packing right before the wedding.
