Shoes...save or splurge

Amanda, on January 14, 2020 at 2:33 PM

Not sure if I should save $ and get a simple shoe that I can maybe use in the future...or splurge on a statement shoe that would barely see under the dress... Thoughts?!

Haha, I thought of this too - while I LOVE the pictures of the shoes with the rings that photographers take, is it really worth a statement shoe for that one picture?! lol

I'd save. Unless you can stand it, they will probably only be on for about 30-45 min out of a 6-8 hour day. For pictures and ceremony.

I purchased mine from Davids Bridal online when they were having a sale. They were normally $40 but got them on sale for $17.50. Winning. My shoes are gorgeous. They sparkle. Will look great in photos AND I can and WILL wear them again. The picture does them no justice

I would say save, you wouldn't see the shoe much anyways under the dress. But you look amazing in the dress!

I am splurging because I never really splurge that much on shoes and this is a reason to do so. I am planning on purchasing Louboutins but in a style that I can wear for many many events to come.

I think you need to find a show that you love. I had a decent budget for my shoes however I found a stunning never worn pair of Red Jessica Simpson stiletto for $20 with shipping. Score! I was willing to pay up to $150 maybe more depending on what I would have found.

I had statement shoes, just Keds though 🤣 — but sparkly red ones. And let me tell ya— EVERYONE noticed. It’s still the most talked about aspect of my wedding (Lol I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing? I mean other compliments are paid but not a soul talks about my wedding without mentioning the shoes). I feel good about that! And best part was— they were comfy to boot!

I have worn them occasionally since , but they definitely are statement shoes , so I don’t wear them every day! I did make a point to wear them in our anniversary though, which was a really fun little nod to the wedding Smiley smile

I'm probably going to opt to save on the shoes as well. I love to dance and know that I'll definitely be swapping them out during the reception so there's no need to break the bank.

Hi there, I think you should wear a shoe that is comfortable yet beautiful. I have to wear kitten heels for my wedding, bcuz I have problems with my ankle. But you will be just fine with a simple shoe that you can live with, besides you can still wear them again.

My shoes cost $250 and were hand made and custom designed. Biggest waste of money for the wedding BY FAR. No one saw them at all and I took them off for dancing. Wish I would’ve spent $30 on a simple white or silver heel.

I considered splurging on $120 pair... but decided against it and got a $23 from Hot Topic.

I spent $25 on a really nice pair of shoes from lulus and have no regrets. Save money for something else that matters more!

Nope. Save. In a dress like that, nobody will be looking at your shoes. 😁
