Shoes...save or splurge 1
Not sure if I should save $ and get a simple shoe that I can maybe use in the future...or splurge on a statement shoe that would barely see under the dress...

Thoughts?!

I say save. I'm not really a shoe person anyways, but I wouldn't spend hundreds on shoes that will hardly be seen.

I saved. I only paid $85 for my wedding shoes. You barely see them, but they did look pretty in the detail shots of my wedding photos.

I found some super cute statement shoes from David's bridal for $80! They're super comfy too! They're covered in jewels & I love them! I think you can do both.

I say save your money and buy a nice nude shoe you can wear again. I did that and I’m happy I did. Nobody paid any attention to my shoes.

Agreed, this is a way to save! I spent $119 from a gorgeous rewearable pair from Nordstrom. They're fancy, so it'll require an occasion, but a nude pair of heels will definitely be worn again.

Save. The shoes aren't going to be seen unless you do specific shots with them

I’d save! You could only see my shoes in literally 1 of my 3000 wedding photos lol.

I went with buying shoes I could reuse again. I don't see the point in spending a lot of money on a shoe I'll only wear once. My shoes are just a patent nude block heeled sandal, although I did buy a bedazzled Badgley Mischka Jewel wedge that I found on Nordstrom for $60 on sale to wear as well, but I might return them because I don't think I'll wear them again after the wedding and they aren't very noticeable under my dress. My dress is floor length, but if I had a tea length or shorter dress it would be more important to me that my shoes stood out and looked "bridal."

Our ceremony is also outdoors, and I think that's something to consider as well. I'd be more tempted to invest in nice shoes if there was a chance they'd stay clean enough to resell or wear again for other fancy occasions, but with an outdoor wedding whatever you buy is going to get dirty (aka ruined) real fast.

You can still get bold shoes or bridal shoes on a budget. Something like a bold blue pump could be really fun but would be re-wearable with a different outfit. Badgley Mischka's Jewel line is an inexpensive version of their designer shoes and they are still blingy and bridal but made with synthetic materials and cost $100 per pair on average, as opposed to $300 a pair for their namesake all leather shoes with the golden foot bed. I think if you are going to spend a lot on shoes, make sure they are comfortable and you can use them again, but if you want something that is more of a statement and has a "niche" as a bridal shoe, then don't splurge.

Whatever shoes you buy, I also recommend having a "back up" pair of inexpensive shoes just in case something happens to your "go to" pair. Having a basic nude heel or pump (maybe something you already own that is broken in and comfortable) that is a similar height to your bridal shoes is great if you happen to break a heel or strap on your main shoes or they end up causing blisters or hurting your feet halfway through the evening. That's probably the only reason I'm considering keeping the wedges I bought - so I have two shoe options in a similar heel height and a backup if something goes wrong.

If no one is going to see your feet, I would definitely save on the shoes.

If you'd like to do a statement piece, maybe get a sparkly belt or huge earrings instead of shoes!
    You look beautiful!

I saved. I found a pair of white lacey wedding sneakers so I'll be comfortable and no one will even know I'm wearing them because of the dress length. Total cost from David's Bridal was $30.

I decided to save the money and pick a shoe I can wear multiple times. I did buy 2 different pairs though. The first pair I was certain was my wedding shoe, but I changed my mind and with with a more block style heel. But I not have 2 nice pairs of heels that I can wear whenever. Plus I think I spent maybe $75ish for the 2 pairs.

1st DANG GIRL!!!! 2nd I can’t bring myself (who loves shoes) to spend big money on my shoes that won’t be seen. Plus I want to be comfy and not have my feet hurting at all.
I say get something that can come as close to possible for the statement and additional wearing.
Not to mention FH is only about 2 inches taller than me.

It never hurts to look through what you already have (especially the timeless/ basic ones.) This saves money and your feet from breaking new shoes in. Plus you might surprise yourself with how versitle your shoe collection is!

(Im voting for going for a nude heel if you want new shoes tho. That dress is classy.)

I think that if you have a lot of occasions where you could wear fancier shoes then it might be nice to buy a somewhat more expensive pair and consider it an addition to your wardrobe but if you are like me and live in sneakers basically then I would try to save money in that area.
